Worst podcasting app I’ve ever used

Cdudhebf

It’s a shame this company is locking good content in this terrible to use app.

Frustrating interface

Le_roxy

I started using stitcher for the premium content, but my frustration is quickly outweighing the extra listening options. I can’t customize my download options for individual podcasts. The front page keeps bringing up suggestions that have nothing to do with the types of shows I’ve added to my favorites. The playlists only let me add shows, but I have no control over the order of the episodes. I added the premium Wolverine show and it automatically added episode 2 to the playlist. That makes a lot of sense. It takes a lot of clicks to do anything and it’s way too easy to click on the wrong thing due to the poor layout. It’s too bad that the company that is leading the way to produce premium content forces us to access it with this app. I’m going to keep using it for the remainder of my premium trial but after that I’ll probably go back to using Overcast.

Hate

majhenn

I have never written a review of an app before but I hate this app so much! It won’t open in offline mode! What is the point of downloading something if the offline mode doesn’t even work? It also will randomly decide to download podcasts that I didn’t ask it to download and I cannot find any settings to change this. It’s never a podcast that I actually want! Why??? I need podcasts to sleep and this app just ruins my life. The only reason I use it is to have access to the Teachers Lounge which is essential to me. Please! Make this app better! Please!

Apple CarPlay issue in latest update

atlanta traffic stinks

I’ve used stitcher for many years and I liked that it worked... although imperfectly... with apple CarPlay. I have a long commute and I used it daily. The latest update has caused serious issues with the getting stuck and never playing, even with saved episodes. Sort out this bug please.

Whaaatt?

I had some folks recommend this app along with some of my favorite podcasts - I was a poor experience all around. I do not recommend this app.

Inexcusable

Cosmic Jester

Inserts their own ads into someone else’s shows. Big pile of nope. I have nothing but contempt for such a practice.

Dangerously confusing

Waltzing with cookies

Great function but dangerously confusing for use by drivers (who will, despite any advice, use this app). The icons, which are just slightly lightened white-ish superimpositions on the podcast owners’ logo, are nearly invisible and require a long time to find, especially if you are changing your focus from an intense, bright light activity like driving. To compound the problem, basic function buttons are initially offscreen and require scrolling to find. Having to find invisible buttons by scrolling around so much makes this app a major, potentially multi-second distraction for a driver. There is a “car mode” for an in-progress show but those particular controls are the least distracting in the main UI. Since the majority of app use is starting new, saved or favorite shows, the “car mode” does not make this any safer. Fixing the invisible buttons would be an easy and possibly life saving first fix. Fixing the scroll heavy navigation should also be a priority. This review is for the iPhone version.

Goodbye badge app icon

Eauxemgee

I’ve used Stitcher for a number of years, but I had to let it go. I can’t remove the badge app icon and if you’re OCD like me, well you get the picture. Good luck ??

Confusing UI and not worth it

Avatarhands

Finally caved and picked up Premium because Earwolf is putting more and more content behind this paywall. This is the most awkward and non-intuitive podcast app I’ve ever used. Playlists are useless; just put the new episodes up! Why should I have to go through multiple steps? Why do old downloads keep popping up after deletion? How about controls that can be used without paging back and searching. I have my complaints about the Apple pod app, but compared to this one, it’s genius. Won’t be keeping this after I run through the free trial. The two stars are for the content. I would happily pay for Earwolf pods—but not as long as they’re on this app.

Why am I seeing ads all of a sudden?

loving the library

I tried stitcher because I just can’t stand Apple podcasts anymore. The app takes some getting used to which I'm fine with. What I'm not OK with is that all of a sudden I'm getting ads! Don't know how to remove them. They are annoying and constant.
