The ads killed it for me

Hzjsuzqiue

I was a Stitcher user for six years, and I finally quit after I got tired of the ads. It’s a pity, because I preferred the interface to Apple’s app, but the frequent (and repetitive) ads on top of the ads that I already have to listen to in the podcasts themselves were ultimately too off-putting.

Wish I could un-update

lrbh midwest

This used to be one of my favorite apps to the degree it was in the pole-position spot nearest to the home button on my iPhone. The new version forces the interface to be square logos instead of the vertical list of podcasts within my playlist groups. This past version list included visible way to quickly see what I had listened to with a glimpse of title. 2 days ago I updated and I am regret this app update so much I am writing a review and searching for other podcast listening options. Grrr argh

The worst

ADRS7890

Interface is terrible, app crashes often and it’s interminably slllooowwww. Don’t bother with Stitcher.

Workable, but just that.

I love filling my work days with listening to podcasts, so any app that allows me to access my favorites easily is one I’m willing to check out. Stitcher is a bit of a disappointment to me, as I had heard a lot of good things, but each time I open it I experience bugs. My front page is a blank white screen, no matter if I’m securely connected to WiFi or cellular data - it just never loads. If I pause the podcast I’m listening to, I have a 50/50 shot that it will start again when I’m ready for it to. These bugs aren’t necessarily detrimental, but they are annoying. I haven’t stopped using it yet, but I will when I find something better.

No longer plays my paid subscription podcasts

cparah

This used to be my favorite podcast player and I have logged 5600 hours in it. When downloading episodes was added that made it the only player I used. Since then, the updates have made it more difficult to use. And in January, 2018, my paid subscription to Fox News MegaCast podcast stopped updating and disappeared from the Stitcher search engine. Since then I have asked tech support and Help-Contact Us for help in getting this podcast back. I have been told 1 - the podcast no longer exists, 2 - I should be able to access it, 3 - they will help me restore it, and 4 - the publisher has removed it from Stitcher. Every one of these has been proven to be false. Why not just tell me the truth about why this and other paid podcasts have disappeared from the search engine. It really seems that the customer service and tech support people don’t know as much as they should about this app.

5/26/18 Update May be last straw

EDIT: Thank you for reacting so quickly to this issue. I realize that you are doing your best to provide an awesome product, and I appreciate that.

where’s all the pods?!

xtian420

every podcast i looked up had 1-10 shows only, with a loading error message at the bottom. not sure if this is an upgrade ploy or just bad software. i uninstalled within 5 minutes, not worth it.

Stick with it!

Have had this app since....2012? It can be confusing at times but stick with it. It’s great! My only request is for you to bring the titles of the shows back, not just the name of the episode and when it downloaded! I appreciate the streamlining efforts but when you’re driving (i know I know) it’s not enough to just have a little picture/icon in the left corner to show you what the show is. Also this version is really crash-y. But hey. I love ya. I’m here for ya and all of your improvements and I respect you doing new stuff and constantly trying to make it better for us. Don’t let all these Bitter Betties with their one stars get to ya.

Great content, horrible interface

kaitlynmonica

Writing this as I am waiting for the app to buffer. I have nothing but problems, often having to shut down the app multiple times before it makes a connection. When I try to play a podcast, I’m often met with a buzzing sound, almost sounds like an old tv turning off. The interface is difficult to use, the search engine is not efficient. Apps like Spotify and the old howl app are significantly more user friendly. I keep my subscription because of the amount of great content, *shoutout Guys We F#%*ed* but if it doesn’t get better soon I don’t know how much longer I’ll continue paying.

I love listening!!!

Marie2360

I haven’t really listened to many podcasts I am a virgin podcast listener as one might say. So I really don’t have much to compare this app to but I really enjoy hearing from the people involved in these cases it is not easy to stop once you have started listening!! A friend recommended the app and now we can discuss some of the cases together. I enjoy the app! Keep up the good work! Thanks!
