Constant crashes made me leave

DrewParagon

After the latest update the app keeps crashing, especially when editing the playlist. Plus the desktop player won’t let me sign in without letting it post to my Facebook feed. After years of enjoyable use I regretfully have to switch to something more reliable.

Do not purchase premium under any circumstances

Shim Sham Flim Flam

This app is horrible. I am a premium member and it is no longer letting me access the archives that I am paying for. You cannot contact stitcher directly. Instead you can send them a message and they will not respond to it. I will be complaining to apple that this app is fraudulent.

Terrible interface

____ayyyyyyyy____

Finally caved and switched over from howl since that app isn't being updated anymore. Instantly regretted it after seeing this clunky, horrible interface. In order for this app to be usable there needs to be several changes made. I don't listen to my podcasts in playlists (which this app seems to push heavily) just give me a feed that shows me what's new. There has to be navigation buttons added to the bottom of the screen to let me get around easier like in howl and apple podcasts. I shouldn't have to be hitting the back button five times to get back to where I started after looking through podcasts from categories. Seriously if you want to be the be all, end all podcast app, take a look at other apps and find out what they're doing that works. Howl and apple podcasts were far from perfect, but this is easily the worst podcast app I've used from a navigation standpoint (I haven't even had the chance to listen to anything yet because this thing gave me such a headache). It really bums me out that howl is dead and got merged into this. I'll probably just cancel my subscription and go back to apple until this gets sorted out. Because as of right now, this is absolutely not worth paying for.

Many podcasts don’t load

MSD1282

This has been a great app for awhile, however I been having issues with podcasts failing to load and play. Looking elsewhere to stream podcasts and will not become a subscriber.

Embarrassing

Binnorie

One of the first things this app did was play out loud a recording introducing me to the app. My volume was all the way up. I was in a very quiet medical waiting room with a dozen or so people. It startled all of us. I’m worried how many times this might happen with the app and am afraid of keeping it. Edit: Developers response to my initial complaint above doesn’t seem to address my core issue. I’m uncomfortable with the app because it auto-played something immediately after I opened it. That shouldn’t happen. I should have complete control over what plays when.

Constant blinking

Ohio777

Update now causes blinking constantly on BMW X3's screen. Buffering refreshes constantly. No problems before. Others seem to have the same issue. ---still blinking after latest update for bug fixes. (March 2018)

Frustrated with Upgrade

SeymourBruins

I have used the app since 2012. It's been my go-to since then, using it everyday. This latest update doesn't work. I started using it because it was one of the first apps to play podcasts back-to-back. After the latest update, the app often freezes between shows. Upgrades are supposed to improve the app. This one has me considering another app. I've given it a couple months and the problem persists.

Just does not have good interface/functionality

danbnnsn

I only reason I ever use this cause it’s the only way to access a bunch of earwolf content. It lacks most of the features and usability I want in a podcast app... Like, when I click on a show just take me to a complete feed with every episode listed in whatever order I want it sorted. Don’t take me to the newest episode first and make me press a second button to see more, and don’t divide the episodes up into submenus according to season or year. Those things could work as filters but the first thing I get should be a complete unfiltered list of every episode And let me make playlists however I want. As in, I make a playlist and add whatever individual episodes to it I want. Maybe it’s ten episodes of a single show, maybe a mix, it’s up to me. I should ALSO be able to make a smart playlist that is the newest episodes of select shows but that should not be the default. Not everyone wants to treat podcasts like a tv or radio station. For some of us it’s more like binging shows on Netflix. Other people probably have different ways of listening. Basically the current design is clunky and severely limits you to consuming podcasts a certain way. The best podcasting apps have streamlined interfaces and pretty granular customizability. Unfortunately for me it seems like more and more shows I like are putting their back catalogs behind the paywall so I’ll keep periodically using the app for now but if it doesn’t drastically improve I’m going to have to cancel my premium subscription. It’s pointless having access to that content if I can’t listen to it the way I enjoy.

Great app RUINED

NutterD

I have 1,138hrs listened to on this app: it was beyond my favorite. Beyond that it crashes, skips, gets stuck repeating a few seconds of audio, doesn't resume where I left off, and plays ads at VERY high volume...the new interface is horrible. All good things come to an end, but I will mourn Stitcher. RIP, old friend.

Crashing constantly

terrarobin

I love the interface but one of the reasons I listen to podcasts is so I can just put my phone away and not touch it while I’m going about my tasks - sadly, stitcher has been constantly crashing lately. It just stops playing the episode (I can’t find any correlation between other apps / a reason it might be getting interrupted.) - I guess I’m hunting for a new podcatcher, again.
