Slow to connect
hjerry9

System is slow to connect and sometimes will drop off totally and you have to restart everything

Only works on local network

Apparently my ISP or router are blocking somfy ports. But I'm unable to find which ports to open to fix this.

Horrible App
Tom001000

It’s not hard to make an app working properly and without lags. It takes 25 second to open the app. It loses signal too easy. Low quality work. Probably the work was done by cheap engineers or someone who learned how to make an app on youtube.

Fake reviews. Worst WiFi device in earth
KR820

I have a ton of smart home products and this is the worst I’ve ever seen. Doesn’t stay connected. Can’t find itself. Can’t transmit. Stops working constantly. It’s an absolute train wreck. And it makes me wonder if the people that created this system did a single minute of testing.

Noisy motors
LeweyS

The roller shades and Wood shutters got from East Valley Blinds in Mesa Az. are nice..but the Somfy motor that is installed in the roller shades is noisy than advertised. Especially at the very end of the extending or extracting it will get this loud deep humming sound. My brother has the Hunter Douglas version and they make their own motors is very quite and smooth. So not too happy with upgrading the motor to a Somfy. Not sure now if I would get the Somfy patio shades now because of the sound it's making. I upgraded the motor to a Somfy because I wanted to match with one controller for both inside and patio shades.

Why bother
jcpenner

Over two years and the app reacts the same. Most weeks the wheel is spinning and not doing anything. Won’t open or close via the app. But takes at least 30-90 seconds to let me know. After reading other app reviews. Good to know it’s not user error.

Update: 2h with tech support to resolve issues
xTexLutz

Hi there, this is an update to my last 1-star review (the app was so dismal unresponsive, busy-indicator circling for up to a minute for each and every app-interaction, it became useless). Somfy did respond with a “developer” response, asking me to contact 800-support. Which I did .. and here’s the result (I am upgrading my review to 3 stars, but it’s still a struggling app-product combo) It took 2h to reach a live person (after 10min on hold, I elected the “provide your phone number, the next analyst will call you"-option… well, that call back took 1.5 h. After which I was put on hold and transferred internally to another specialist (Andy, nice guy) who helped me. Suspicion was quickly on Wifi-access (crowded network, weak wifi (the router was 6 feet away!) and hence slow app reaction time) Steps taken: > Deinstall all apps on phone and iPad > Factory-reset the MyLink unit > Re-install apps > Re-establish app access to MyLink unit > Pair unit with 5G-Wifi signal > Re-pair manual remotes in house for awnings to the newly configed App And all is working now, the app is reacting fast (again/normal) after around 2.5h of total turn around time. Final thoughts and observation: 1) Out of dozens (Iiterally) wifi devices (Nest thermostats, Nest smoke, floor heating, Stereo, speakers etc etc) NO OTHER device appears so finicky as this MyLink/Somfy unit. 2) The -now-working MyLink continues to indicate weak-signal Wifi. My iPhoneXR lying right next to it(!), both 6 feet away from wifi router, shows full bars and full wifi-strength. We have Fios 100mb, so internet is NOT the issue. There is something really wrong with the engineering of the MyLink unit or the app or both. It’s working now/again, but I have a feeling I’ll be doing all this again in a year or so.

Does not work with IOS
C .G.

I bought mine and after many hours of being unable to install I spoke with the technical service (most friendly) and was told about a temporary upset with the latest IOS update...that I should wait a few days, as they were working on it!!! That was more than a month ago....no new version....and obviously it does NOT work!!!!

Setup Issues
DubHop

I’ve tried time and time again with no success. When setting the app up, everything goes smooth until it’s time to add a shade. I select the channel I want, press the program button on the remote, that shade jumps up and down... then I press the program button on the app, the same shade jumps up and down to signify it’s paired. Then when I test the up/down button in the app, it controls a totally different shade! Very annoying, and I’ve tried setup many times. Currently waiting on Somfy support. Will update this if support can fix this issue.

Total garage of an app
Jinyoung Kim

Omg, where do I start? Slow to start, constantly crashes, can’t even do simple things like delete a channel. The interface is confusing mess, doesn’t act like any app I’ve ever seen. I’m stuck using this app because that’s what the blinds company I went with installed. Please good lord improve this app!!!
