I found Simple Control very useful for over a year. The new interface, however, takes away so much functionality and is so non intuitive as to render the app useless. I’m very disappointed as this is my primary means of controlling my multi zone stereo and entertainment center. Please bring back the visibility that the legacy interface offered. The new interface is a disaster. I speak from the perspective of an engineer with many years of app dev and UI experience

Pretty neat how this update rendered the app completely useless to control my stuff. Many many hours getting it to work just right, ruined. Canceling subscription and moving on....

This the best remote control app, fantastic alternative to Control 4, and Logitech is not even close to this app. Once you get the know-how of this app, it’s the best and most reliable. Add iTach blaster or Simple Blaster for old devices and you have a complete Remote. Yearly Subscription is reasonable and glad they are going with this business modal. So they can stay in business for long... I am using this app six years now (older for five years)...
Buggy and zero tech support

Ive used this app for several years now so I have a fair understanding of how it works. Most recently, had a power outage. A SIMPLE POWER OUTAGE and was forced to pay again for subscription renewed less than 1 month earlier. Tech support excuse,,,, You tried to use our latest buggiest app version, could not use it and went back to the latest version that still worked therefor you must pay again within the older app. WHAT? Tech support answer after waiting days to hear....TOO BAD. Yesterday I changed my WiFi password. 2 out of three blasters will not reset so I can connect them back to my network. Now to use it I need to repurchase $200.00 worth of new hardware. Tech support reasoning. Your old hardware was too old for the newer app. I JUST CHANGED A WIFI PASSWORD!!! NOTHING MORE. Ive used this since the early days when it was roomie remote. It just keeps getting worse. Hello Harmony Hub. $65.00 no subscription and live tech support.

Even if there are quirks, and there are but the devs always iron them out, this is the best in its class in the App Store. With the exception of the high dollar control systems, ie crestron, I have tried virtually every app in this category and nothing comes close. This is subscription based but as long as improvements keep coming it is a small price to pay imo. This does take a small amount of tech savvy to get going but once done you can have a total home control at a fraction of what a custom automation system cost. Keep up the great work!
Remote completely changed

When this was roomie, i loved it Now it has turned i to a completely differrnt product. No more custom remotes. I know they have action panels but i spent 100 of hours making remotes and buttons The only reason the old was discontinued was dropbox changed there format Well they should support both v4 and v5 This new system has a very steep learning curve. And i cant find a way to use custom serial and my old seems to have stop working
Poor Documentation

Having a tough time setting this remote up. Graphics are like a 2 year old design them. Colorless bland and no pop. Tried to load png color icons and all I got was a white box. Can’t see full titles in menu selections on my iphone. Seamed SimpleControl isn’t that simple. Guess I have to get my white hat on and do some programming and figure it out all over again. Just like I did for pass updates. Least in the pass, there were some videos on the basic setups By the way, how do you delete an Activity. Now I have 4 watch tv, which I don’t need.

Takes some patience to set up, but this really is a capable system. Remote management and very customizable—the tv program guides literally change the way we watch tv.
