Lacking some obvious features

Despite sometimes being buggy and requiring a restart, it largely works. Missing some obvious features, though. Why doesn’t scheduling allow me to choose rooms to clean on certain days? I can only do whole house in scheduling. Rooms can only be selected for manual cleans. Also, I can’t change the cleaning mode in scheduling to have light or heavy cleaning days. That can only be changed for manual cleans, too. If Shark wants to compete with Roomba they need to add some of these simple, obvious features.

The map actually looks good. Has a great depiction of the four bedroom floor, but for some reason won’t go past 33% complete. That prevents us from specifying a room to clean. There’s also a notification bug that Shark refuses to fix! The app shows a badge for an alert, and goes to notifications when launched. But there’s NO NOTIFICATION! And their support is worthless. Always wants you to call (hello we’re in the year 2020, email exists). And after an hour on the phone it always ends the same. Factory reset your robot, and try again.

Not sure what everyone is having problems mapping for. Just be patient. Bought mine December 20th, and the map is done. MOST IMPORTANT THING TO HELP THE MAP ALONG, AFTER ITS DONE CLEANING- click map, and CLICK THE THUMBS UP. There is some issues with the app, like not able to register and when trying to select a specific room to clean, you can’t select the rooms at the bottom after you scroll, but those by far are not deal breakers. Vacuum has one issue as well, round ball dog food gets stuck in the brush roll. Then the vacuum errors out. But again no big deal. I highly recommend, I know app improvements will be coming. You need patience in the beginning. It seems everyone expects this thing to be perfect right away.

Would not connect to WiFi no matter what I tried.

Connected once during initial setup. Setup did not complete now will not finish in the app at all. When I look at my router robot reports connected but app says I have no robots!! Robot works great when I press the buttons but the WiFi setup routine is broken. Any help would be appreciated Update: I setup a second WiFi access point on my network with nothing on it. Then connected the robot using the instructions on the app. It worked great. So now just my phone and robot are hooked together. I then reconnected my phone to my primary network and reset the robot. It connected to the primary network and worked great with no issues. In any event I can now schedule and control the robot from the app and have also hooked it to home automation. The robot itself works great. Just the app to robot interface that gave problems.


App does not allow adding my zip code

I have been trying but the app does not let me add my zip code 02644 so I cannot complete Registration. I looked for a section to notify you but this is all I can find


Not working!!

This app worked perfectly with my vacuum the first couple of weeks I had it. I got it on Black Friday. Now it won’t show it’s charged, won’t run at the correct times and I had scheduling completely off today and it ran while I was at work and ran over dog poop and spread around my dining room!! This is not ok. I am going to be forced to return it filled with dog poop! Please help!


Missing options

Before the update there were options to Spot and Dock. But now you have to clean the entire space before you can Dock your vacuum. Sometimes I just need to Spot an area and Dock but there is no longer buttons on the app for that. Please add these options back because it was useful.


App is useless!

So disappointed on something I spent a lot of money on. Once I finished setting up shark through the app and started its first run, I lost my WiFi connection on the shark. I followed the instructions to fix it with no success. I called customer service twice and they only went through the steps I did with no success. I found out if you delete the device and add a new device it will then get the WiFi back but will lose it after 10 minutes or so. Any ideas how to fix this crap. All the perks of the app can’t be used without WiFi!!!


New Robot firmware coming mid-January

My shark was unable to complete the map of my home after more than 50 individual cleanings. New firmware will be released in the next several days specifically addressing mapping issues.
