I know you think this app has got to be too good to be true, I did, but it is well worth it! I’m saving so much from switching to root from progressive! I never ever write reviews for anything but this one deserves it!

Didn’t save me money

Tired of getting spammed!

My driving score was 10/10 after the few weeks it took to calculate it. My quote is $5/month cheaper than liberty mutual, but since liberty mutual gives us a discount on our home owners insurance for getting the home/auto package, it ends up being cheaper not to switch. Plus, our deductible goes down by $100 for every year we don’t have an accident, so switching to root would mean a higher deductible. This would have saved us money if I hadn’t already shopped around and found the best rate. It’s certainly better than the average quote I got from other insurance companies. I did give 3 stars because the app is clear and easy to use. It’s even a little fun to check the sliders and see how you drive. That said, I’m not sure what it’s actually doing because I am a terrible driver and should definitely not have a 10/10 score! Lol. I think it’s just because I average less than 5 miles per day and I only drive in the city (ie slow/stop-and-go). Overall, if you’re lazy and don’t feel like shopping around for insurance (and dealing with pushy agents), this will probably save you money. If you already shopped around and got a good rate, it probably won’t.

So I went from progressive paying well over $140 a month to $64. Same coverage and everything. All I can say is I’m so happy I found out about root and I get to be apart of it. Thank you Root team!

I just downloaded the app & I see that one thing they rate you on is driving during safe hours. What about people who work overnight? If I get a bad rating for driving at night because that’s when I work, I’m not going to be happy. I really don’t think that’s fair. But I’ll have to see what happens! UPDATE: I got a good score & they offered me a lower price than what I’m paying Geico. So, for me, this app is great! ?

It’s not the first time I see an insurance provider is trying to adopt technology with the traditional ways to offer a service which is unique and affordable but this one unlike others are telling you just a small portion of all you need to know. The one star rating is what they deserve for the app that you can check your driving style and find out if there’s an area you need to try more but what if it ended up with a high score and they are still believing that it’s not for you?! I am trying to give anyone of you guys out there to give a head up as they are not just looking at the way you are driving but on top of that, how often you drive and where. The answers to these questions are way more important to them than how you did pass the test drive so if you really desperate in getting a great offer and you are a professional driver or someone who drive a lot whenever you drive, just try to either shut your phone down or don’t even bring it with you. For people who are not honest and transparent, I believe, we have to react the same way but in general it’s always like an insurance company who is better to know as minimum as possible. I know these people are issuing policies with discount and if you are desperate to get one (I wasn’t and thank goodness) I just gave you the hint.

I’m 20 years old and thought my clean driving record with no tickets or accidents along with doing almost perfect on every eating system would come in place. However the rates given to me are not only worse than my current full coverage for much worse actual coverage, it also gives a 25% increase in price I would have to pay for worse insurance.

Best Car Insurance I’ve ever seen!!

I am a full-time business undergraduate online and I also work full-time. I am about to graduate and will soon be on my own. With this coming up I decided to investigate my insurance options. I got ridiculously high rates since I am a 21 year old male who is unmarried...that is until I discovered Root. The idea behind the business is genius, and the app is EXTREMELY easy to use. I am now paying a rate based on my driving ability and am saving over $1200 a year compared to the other options. Plus I am getting more coverage, such as uninsured motorist coverage and the road side assistance (which is included in every package I may add). I was able to customize my package in no time and the process took only 5 minutes (maybe less) total of my time from downloading the app to purchasing my customized plan. I would HIGHLY recommend.
