It doesn’t know when YOU are driving

I work as an EMT in Baltimore. The roads are always bumpy and there are so many potholes. This app doesn’t ask who is driving. I feel like this app assessed the ambulance driving and as a result I got a low rating. If you could install a function after every drive asking who was driving that would be better. I feel like I wasted 4 weeks of my life with this app for nothing.
Referral bonus is fake promise and free advertisement, quite good insurance rate though!

I got it referred from a friend and did test drive. My score was 10/10 and got a quote which was little but cheaper than the previous. When I pay for 6 month, they gave huge discount which attracted me ti go with them. Even the referral bonus for you and your friend getting quote was another excitement. I spent my day sending toot referral and convincing them to have it a try. More than 15 of my friends were saying they installed it from my link and doing test drive. However, the app shows only 4 potential referred friends are using it. When I talk to the agent they say there are 9 active referred drivers using the app. Whenever my friend tell they got quote, neither me nor they get bonus. When I talk to the support they say: may be your friend did not use the link properly. How cant be it true they did not use my referral when they are seeing the “root” insurance for the first time through my text? They may have problem with their system to understand referral link and its use, but they are not ready to accept it!
Test Drive - Longest 3 weeks of my life

Decided to shop for insurance since I have been with current carrier for over 5 years and moved states. After getting quotes from the typical carriers I decided to give Root a try. All of the reviews were favorable and the allure of saving money seemed worth the effort of tracking me on the test drive. I am retired and rarely drive, 4-6k miles a year and never late at night. After starting the test drive it seemed great, 10 out of 10 rating. After the first week it seemed my progress stopped and the app just kept displaying that it needs more miles. So, I keep driving another week goes by and same result. The progress meter just stays in the middle, and I am now making trips just to try and get the needle to move. Finally after 3-4 weeks its starts to budge and I am getting excited to finally get a quote. My driving score is 10 out of 10 indicating I am a good driver and finally I open the app to see that my test drive completed. Yea! The problem was that the quoted price was higher than every other major carrier with the same coverage levels.

Pretty cool concept. Unfortunately not quite as cheap as I would of liked. About the same price as progressive. But oh well might as well switch.

I love this app and recommend this app to everyone not to increase their savings but to know how auto Insurance should be provided. If you are a good driver, you will get good deal from Root. Install -> Ride -> Get quote( u will be amazed with the quote. Believe me) Thank you for the best app...❤️

This is amazing I went from payin 240-250 a month on liability with State Farm to 73 dollars with root I’m only 22 this is just great saving right at around 2000 a year is good for me no questions asked.

Has car insurance changed at all before Root? It’s always felt outdated, complicated, not user friendly, and EXPENSIVE. Root, my generation needs you. We are thankful for you and we are getting (better) coverage as a reward for our safe driving. I’m referring everyone.
Works until I need to create my plan

After 5 weeks of driving, I don't drive that much and when I do it's not that far, I have finally been given a quote. The app won't proceed with the quote past a certain point. I keep receiving a system error message. Please fix. I would very much like to try this out.
