Being able to join Root was seamless and super simple! After I got my quote, I joined immediately. They saved me $2,100/yr and gave me better coverage for my 3 vehicles. Thank you Root for basing my rate on my driving and not my age, 76 years young.

Good Rates, but Bad Roadside Rescue

I ended up with a 7 for my driving score and was offered a plan around $100 which is great. What I don’t like is that you have to pay out of pocket for any roadside assistance, then you have to email them a receipt, then they only reimburse up to $100 and only 3 times every 6 months, and they can only send a check by mail (after 5 days to process your request) for reimbursement. For my first experience with roadside rescue reimbursement, they completely didn’t send my reimbursement after a month, and said it was just an error...the representative said they don’t send an email or text confirmation at all to notify you when the check has been sent.. And I still have to wait another week for them to process the check ? Aggravating...

I wasted weeks with this app. Driving around and checking it every day and finally got a quote of $200/ mo I then logged into geico and got an online quote of 96/ mo Waste of time.

After other insurance companies raised rates due to hail damage to other insurers. Rates had gone up 30% without even making any claims in years. Took the Root drive test and saved close to $800.

So the other day, I had a 8/10 rating for my driving and I had between 3-5 days before everything was supposed to be finished for the test drive. I just got back from a road trip (I wasn’t driving. Even then, nothing went wrong) but now I looked on the app and it says that my test drive is done and I wasn’t accepted. I had a good driving record and everything and I still didn’t get accepted after waiting 4 weeks for the test drive to be done. Can someone please explain to me?

I have my location on always, yet it keeps telling me the app has hit a road block. I’ve been dying to try this app, GoAuto has me paying $355 a month for liability only because i am on my own plan not my parents. please please help me fix this

Does not give you insurance quotes instantly. You have to waste your time and wait three weeks or so. I just deleted the app and went online to buy insurance immediately.

I am happy I am saving over $100 on more coverage in car insurance. The driving test phase had some kinks but I contacted Root and they took care of it immediately. Overall I am happy and I hope their claims department is good too but I do not anticipate ever needing to find out :)
