I have had the app on my phone for a few weeks now. It took a while for me to actually get a quote as I live 3 miles from work so I needed a longer period of time to get the amount of driving hours needed, but man did it pay off! I have been paying $326.76 a month for the last few months based solely on the fact that I bought a new sport model car and my zip code. It was the cheapest I could find, and trust me I shopped for weeks with online quotes and private agents. After having root for about 3-4 weeks they offered me a quote with the same coverage I had for $86.15 a month!! I was astounded. I’m literally saving almost $3,000 a year now! Just signed up today and they offered to cancel my old policy for free so I didn’t have to call and get haggled on the phone! I’m in love!

I’m not going to hide that I work at Root so feel free to skip my biased review. But as a person who gets to peek behind the scenes I’m truly proud to be part of something so amazing. This company hires some of the smartest people I’ve ever met and they are all working hard to make insurance fair (rates based off driving) and affordable (cutting out unneeded overhead). I highly recommend you give the app a try.

Got my quote TODAY! My old insurance policy was $170/month. Now it’s only $85! That’s over $1000/year savings. Setup was so easy- they even contact your old insurance to cancel for you! I recommend!

They offered me more than shelter with a lower deductible and more amenities. I’m so happy I gave them a shot to show me how much I’m saving and if you do 6 months ahead its $100 off well atleast it was for me for paying 6 months ahead. Love Root Insurance

I had USAA, but the switch to Root saved me about $40 a month. (For reference, am a 22-year old male, lives in a mid-sized American city, drive about 15,000 miles a year, and have had my license for 2 1/4 years). The app was pretty straightforward, though adding a few explanatory notes in a few more places could be helpful for those of us new to the world of car insurance :)

I’ve had it set up and running for almost a month, and my score has been 8/10 for most of that. I do, however wish it would take into account factors like unavoidable rush hour traffic, and the roundabouts I use on a regular basis. I know those are directly affecting my score in terms of braking and turning speeds, which is concerning. Everything else about the app is well put together.
