My story $380 with Root$177

Dcnanox

My first car was a Nissan Sentra. So I was 20 back then and pay $380 for insurance. I had an accident and lose the car. Now today I have a Nissan Rogue. Pay $360 for insurance same company. I just found out about Root. And took the 2 weeks. So the new insurance is going to be the max $260 and the low $177 so I do recommend this insurance because is full cover and People like my age won’t get better insurance price. I’m 21 now.

Great rates but AWUL insurance

I have had this insurance for almost a year and thought things were going great. Because my driving is good, my rate is about $40/month less than it was at Geico and the app itself was easy to use. However, when I got in a car accident about 2 months ago, everything changed. First of all, they had me file a claim through their app which was fairly easy to do. It asked for the police report number, the police department sanction it happened under, what occurred during the accident, and pictures of the damages. I provided all of these things and waited to hear back. This is when the sh*tshow starts. It took a while before I got a response in the first place, and even after I finally did the insurance adjuster I have been communicating with has been incompetent and their app seems to be more bells and whistles than actual function. He asked for all of the things I already provided in filing the initial claim, then asked for some of those things multiple times. I have been left completely in the dark as to what the next steps are, their process to either repairing or totaling the car, and how to move forward with either. He provided me with no updates or guidance, so up to two weeks at a time would pass and *I* would then have to reach out to HIM to find out what was going on. After finally getting the okay to get the car looked at by a mechanic and getting an estimate, the total ended up being 75% of the car’s value and the mechanic assured me there would be $1,000+ more of damage underneath what they can initially see (I was rear ended REAL hard and it was a hit and run), they say they are not going to go ahead with the repairs. This doesn’t make much sense to me, as that would make the car totaled if the repairs equal or surpass the car’s value. When I go to clarify, he is like “oh, I will have someone go look at the car to come take pictures of it so we can write our own estimate.” Two weeks pass after the random person comes to take the pictures of my car. Some guy literally shows up and was like “idk, the app just tells me what picture to take of the car” and has no expertise whatsoever in what to look for and does not ask any questions about other damage the car already has. Very professional. At this point I call the customer service line and ask for a supervisor because it’s been two months of driving a damaged car and it’s not hard to figure out that the car is totaled. I also wanted to talk to them about how abhorrent the service has been and to ask about next steps. I am directed to leave a message with a supervisor and wait for a call back. That person completely ignores my message and has the guy I’ve been dealing with call me back. He sent me the estimate they made and it is completely wrong. He says they will be sending me a check in that amount ($1,000 less than the shop estimated and they didn’t even include repairing 2 major structural damages of the car AND they valued my car at $1,500 more than it is actually worth as it has now been in two accidents, has an oil leak, as well as other preexisting damage). So to summarize, you get what you pay for. The rates may be lower, but when you actually need to use your insurance it will be a hellish nightmare. So do future you a favor and just go through Geico.

This insurance company is a joke.

I did the test run. I drove hundreds of miles with this tracker on my phone, watching every turn and easing into every acceleration and deceleration. My score was an even 7! Thought that was a pretty good score seeing is how it’s out of 10. Nope! My quote was absolutely ridiculous. I thought “hey, i’m young and i drive a newer car, so it would be really good to have an insurance company that judges me off of my driving and not my age”. NOPE! My quote was more than TWO TIMES as expensive as my existing insurance for the “good” plan. That’s right. Not the full coverage plan, but the plan that meets the bare minimum amount of coverage costs was more than two times as expensive. All I could do was laugh and promptly delete the app. Don’t waste your time, this insurance company is a joke.

Doesn’t save you any money!! Just a bunch of lies

I downloaded and installed this app because I thought they could help save me and my family money on our car insurance. I did the driving test for a few weeks and finally it was time to reveal my quote. $311 for the state minimum for 3 drivers, 5 vehicles, 4 of those vehicles would require full coverage due to being leased so that quote was a no go. Decided to add collision coverage on the vehicles that require it and quote went up to $630. Currently insured with Geico paying $450 a month for the same amount of vehicles, same drivers and full coverage on vehicles that need it... I will be uninstalling the app because in my case they couldn’t save me money on my car insurance ??‍♀️✌?

Doesn’t log my miles...no point in using it.

Daysprinf

Doesn’t log my miles, so I don’t see a reason to continue to use this.

Root insurance is the best!

Mr. FiZzLeS

Root insurance is a life saver! For the most basic coverage Allstate could provide they were charging me $400 a month. With better Insurance and good coverage I’m paying half that rate. Thank you so much root, I’m referring you to everyone I know.

Best!

Jordan7084

Took me 3 weeks to get a quote and guess what i got 9/10 and gave me huge discounts.

Dissapointed

nedenböyleyapıyosun

I set it up and began to use it. It said my driving test takes 4-5 week, and I continue using it. A few week later it said your results will takes 1-2 week and after that day, it gave my results and also gave quote me more expensive than my current insurance although my overall score is 10/10.

I have a clean driving record and got a 10/10 score and to get the same full coverage i have now($195) i would have to pay $215 a month. I just went over to progressive and got full coverage insurance for $136....this is a joke.
