Better plan than my old progressive one, and I saved $130 a month. Went from $284 to $154 a month, and saved $1596 for the year! No reason why you shouldn’t switch, it’s all through this app and they make it simple

Insurance helped me save quite a bit but after a couple of months premium has gone up 100 every six months for no reason no changes to the insurance I have no tickets or accidents so don’t know why it’s going up so much.

Not transparent enough

I spent nearly 4 weeks doing the test drive because I don’t really drive that much. I had a 10/10 score for 3.5 weeks, and then all of a sudden in the last 2 days of the test drive, my score went down to 8/10. Whatever, that’s still an OK score, right? After all that time, I was told that I would receive a better offer from another insurer, without actually telling me WHY they wouldn’t even bother to give me a quote. It couldn’t have been my driving, which, at worst, was an 8/10. If it was something else, I should have been told that up front before doing a month of test driving. I have a really good driving record and have never been turned down for insurance elsewhere. I don’t really care one way or another if Root didn’t give me a quote, but the fact that it couldn’t have had much to do with my driving means that I should have been told much, much sooner and Root should not have wasted my time.

I had their app on my phone for 2 weeks, got a driving score of 7-8 and then all of the sudden get a message saying “Good news and bad news, you’re finished with your test drive but we’ve determined that you’ll definitely get a better rate from another insurer.” The fact that I waited for a quote for 2 weeks and now won’t even get one is unacceptable. Honestly in disbelief
Don’t waste your time !

Your policy will go up after 6 months. Even with great driving and no claims. Don’t waste your time!
