voice disappointment

Rauvit7

An expensive app considering the voice activation does not work most of the time. I had to use the auto scroll which I could of purchased for $4.99 from a competitor. I sent a message for assistance and 2 days later still no reply.

Perfect for me

Eddie Offermann

I’m editing together a sort of retrospective of my past work right now - and while I’ve done plenty of voiceover on projects as needed, I’m not usually on camera for it. Because of the nature of this particular piece I needed to make the jump to staying on script even when engaging the camera. While others have complained about how various file types are supported or whether it could follow their voice, I did not have these problems. It followed me perfectly, even when I would stumble and go back to re-read a couple lines. Just perfect! It’s going to be in my toolbox for the long haul.

Didn’t save my videos

Ryan Estes

For a $20 app, this thing sure didn’t perform. I had used it with some success on a few videos myself, so today we used it to shoot a few quick videos for work. On two separate occasions the app had a glitch and didn’t save the videos after the take (costing us 10-15 mins each time in wasted shots). I won’t be trusting PromptSmart Pro again for anything that really matters. Can I have my money back?!

Voice activation is horrible

DRRanae

I don’t know if there is some trick to making the words scroll consistently when I speak, but for now it’s hit or miss. I articulate and project well so I don’t know why it’s starts scrolling for a few lines and then stops...even when I continue speaking and my words match the script. Very frustrating. It got great reviews so I bought it. Wish I had saved my money.

Can’t even create an account

SleepyAndroid

I wanted to sign up for the subscription to unlock the ability to use another device for remote control, however, I couldn’t even create an account. I kept getting an error response that said to not use auto fill capabilities of the OS or other apps and to type everything in manually. I did ... multiple times. I’m a UI designer with 20 years of experience and have never once seen anything like that before. Every other modern app on the platform uses the standard iOS keyboard, which has autocomplete options at the top or the ability to open up a password manager. Not this. Why? Again, as a UI design, there’s no reason for that ... other than laziness, antiquated code, or a complete lack of understanding for how to create a good user experience. I was a customer willing to hand over my money and they lost me at an appallingly bad sign up screen. Not a good sign for the rest of the apps quality either. I’m out and you should be too.

Great Idea, Poor Execution

Morzini

Such a waste of time (and money)... I’ve spent about 8h trying to record a video. I feel like it’s a beta version - there’s always something that doesn’t work : 1) Most of the time, it doesn’t scroll down... 2) When it does scroll down, there’s always another problem, like an useless pop-up on the screen that prevents you from reading your script... And 3) Sometimes the video doesn’t record at all. I guess I’ll try this app again in a couple of years, after 100-200 upgrades. PS : Used from iPhone 6

Please correct the UPDATE

My Asianlicous

The last update took away the ability for user to SPEAK AHEAD of what you see Written on screen. Please bring that back. Thank you. When you do, 5 stars.

Ok product, voice recognition needs to be fixed

Moose016

The program is ok but it skips quite a bit when reading scripts off of it. I think the voice recognition built in this needs to be tweaked instead of the system skipping line after line in some paragraphs.

Voice Control Not A Great Experience

Gaskiro

I was really excited about this app because I do a lot of promotional video productions that requires the use of a TelePrompTer. The voice command feature I thought would be the answer to my needs. I spent most of my night after downloading the app to use on my new iPad Pro 11”, working to see what distance works best using the voice. I settled for 2 to 3 ft. From the camera which seem like from my test at home worked perfect. I just knew I would impress my client using this new app, boy was I wrong. Once I got on set the next morning using a room about half the size I was testing in, more than enough volume coming from the speakers voice, the app would begin to follow her voice for about two sentences and then stopped. I tried resetting the app, and deleting and adding the script but still it freezes after the second sentence. I assume it might be her voice so I tried my voice and it stopped after some point with me as well, so we had to go with the automatic scroll which worked great. I think instead of charging extra for the additional features, I think you need to put more focus in improving the voice feature. Can’t understand why you charge additional for features and the voice feature is unpredictable. Overall I think this has the potential to be a great app, but the voice feature is what makes it so appealing, I could have bought any app for much less if I wanted to auto scroll. Don’t get me wrong, When it works, it works great, but I don’t need to spend most of my setup time trying to get the voice feature to consistently follow my clients voice. I would highly recommend this app because it’s a great app, but don’t buy it for the voice feature alone, unless you’re plugging your audio source directly into the iPad which I did with an older iPad with a cable. That seem to follow voice ok. But I don’t need to use more cables. I look forward to the improvements.
