Best Fitness App

Gwill8

Just wanted to say that the new version 2.8 is AMAZING! I love the new coach Nora and love the way I can now see and search for workouts. This is seriously the best fitness coaching app out there. I get the best most efficient workouts no matter where I am (home, gym, track, bike, paddle board, etc) and the technology actually has you calibrate your own heart rate training zones so you know you are getting the most out of each workout and you can actually see your fitness improving. I have learned so much about my own body and my own fitness level from using this app. The coaches and workouts are amazing...I could go on but this is a fantastic fitness app that seriously changed my life!

App crashing - new update worse than ever

dsklein

I use PEAR to train for my halfs. Routinely, it would crash during long runs inexplicably. With this newest update, the app now only works with the tracking only. And, it didn't recognize my subscription so I ended up owing twice for May. Buyer beware! Update 5/26: newest bug fix is worthless. App still crashes during coached workouts. VERY DISAPPOINTING!

Great but issues

I loved the previous version of this app it worked great with my Apple Watch without issues at all. Ever since the update though the watch is supposedly never connected. I can start a workout fine, but after a few min Pear no longer works on the watch. When I try to add a workout to my watch is says it's not connected when I just verified that it is. I've really enjoyed everything about Pear I just wish it was still working as good with the Apple Watch as it used to.

Crashing during workouts

nycrhythmdoc

Since upgrade to new version the app consistently crashes during workouts - needs a patch ASAP since it's currently useless As of 6/31 still crashing and no word back from customer support - only reliable in tracking only mode and can't use the coached workouts that I'm paying for! As of 7/12 continues to crash and is essentially useless. Customer support suggests that the app has a problem if you use an Apple Watch and a HR strap on the same workout but: a) that's a highly desirable feature and b) it has crashed even when I use only one of the two. They also suggest that there's a problem with using streaming music services like Spotify but, again, a) that's an important feature and b) it's crashed even when listening to iTunes. These problems are all unique to the new upgrade. Meanwhile, my 1-year paid subscription continues to run although I can't use the app. ?.

Good, but some issues

wyguyjim

I've had problems getting the playlist I've chosen to play correctly. Sometimes the playlist will play, other times it will play "All Songs". The first time I tried the app I couldn't get any music to play at all. Sometimes the workout shown on my calendar will be different than the one in "Today's Workout". When I try to purchase a training plan, the app tells me my purchase has been successful, but the training plan never loads. I contacted customer service ( you have to leave your number and they will get back to you). Left my number on 6/15/2017 @ 8:45 am MST. Let's see how long before I hear back. I'm planning on using this app with a Bluetooth enabled HRM. Hopefully I won't have any issues. More to come on that. UPDATE (6/20/2017) Customer support replied to my email the same day. They seemed a little annoyed that I had brought up my issues in my review before they had a chance to resolve them. I don't see what difference that makes. I would have talked about the technical issues regardless of when I wrote the review. It wasn't an exceptional customer service experience, but not horrible and the issue got resolved. I haven't had any problems with playlists or music while using the app. I figured out the issue with "Today's Workout". It was user error. I bought a Polar H7 HRM. Paired it with my 6S. The app had no problem connecting with the HRM and I have used it with the app with no issues. Overall I'm pretty happy with the app. I'm using it to follow a particular training plan to get ready for a single event. I like the fact that my training plan includes coaching on things like running form. The coach even throws in a joke now and again. I have not sampled any of the many workouts available to download, but it seems like there are a wide variety. I upped my rating from 3 stars to 4.

Easy

So far OK

Issues with stopping to soon

Createful One

Just started using the app a week ago and twice now it locked up and stopped recording my run. In my iPad it kicks me out whenever I go to view my calendar or training plan. I can't use it.

Bad update

Not compatible with ipodtouch 5s!!! Worked fine pre update. Works on 6s. Please fix now!!!

Good phone app. Not watch app

Like the phone app: been tracking my runs for months. Simple results but who needs more data anyway? I was looking forward for the watch app as their customer support said they were upgrading it: well its disappointing: its a school-case example of an app written by people who dont use it: the watch view is so small, it's impossible to read the numbers while running. Would be so simple to use 2 screens to make it bigger! I also wish front screen of app was less commercial and more fitness oriented. But for a free app, its not bad.

Good But......

This is the best workout app I've tried so far but the GPS tracking is horrendous. I would love to blame it on the watch but the Apple Watch workout app smooths the GPS track nicely. I live in an urban area. Fix the tracks and I would gladly pay $40 for the membership. Also, it said I ran a mile in 00:08. Man, I wish!! Crashed again!!! If I could give 0 stars I would!! Garmin wins!!
