Does not work with Apple Watch

dpetrov4

If you want to use the app with Apple Watch every workout needs to be uploaded to the watch. A process that needs to be performed all the time since the Watch is limited to storing up to 3 workouts and seems to fail 9 times out of 10 with "Apple Watch not available message". This renders the app useless for me.

Enjoy the Coaching

I'm the type who needs coaching while working out, or I'll just wander aimlessly and give up after doing the same old routine over and over. Tons of workouts to choose from and can match what you want to focus on that day -- whether it be running or lifting or cycling. This has been one of my favorite fitness apps I've ever tried. Ties my workouts into MapMyRun so that's great, too. Give it a try!

Awesome app

Great mix of workouts, best combination of options and affordability. Highly recommended ?

Good, but inaccurate calories burned

Uspsjandi

I've only been using the running and elliptical programs. The coaches are motivating and I can hear them over pandora and youtube (for when I'm in the gym). The calories burned is very inaccurate though. I did a 35 minute program today and had to slow down to a walk a few times because I kept going into zone 3 (target zone was 2). I am a 5'5 female, 115 lbs. The app said I burned 381 calories in that short 35 minutes which included 10 mins of warm up/cool down. I dont think so. My information is correct in the program. I checked to make sure I hadnt mistyped anything. Luckily, i was running another program at the same time which said I burned 166 calories, which is much more likely.

Latest update

It is frustrating when an app is updated and there are no release notes associated with fixes or changes.

Apple Watch app buggy and drains battery

CSM705

Love the Pear app but removed it from my watch. It drains my battery on watch very fast - trouble the rest of the day with battery even after shutting it down --and my watch doesn't stay connected with the workout. I usually end up also running a different app on my watch so I can still track my stats.

Exactly what I was looking for

I've been using this app for about a year and it has really kept me on track. I love the design in the new update. It's much easier to find new workouts based on your goals. The best thing about this app is that there is always a coach motivating you during tough workouts. Definitely the best app of its kind, from what I have seen.

Great motivator

New update looks great! Sounds cheesy but Pear actually makes it a lot more fun and something I really look forward to doing. Nice to have some boundaries to train in and a pro "coaching" me through my workout. The challenge of staying in my zones makes it like a game against the backdrop of my own music.

iPhone app is good Apple Watch app is not

megwestlake

I love Pear, but everything I've tried to do needs my hear rate. The first time it seemed to work properly. The second and third it was useless. I may not pick up the membership if this keeps up. Update: They not only have not fixed the Apple Watch capabilities, but they charged me $4 for coaching on 5/18 and then raised it to $6 on 5/22 and ignored the $4 they already charged me and charged me $6 more. Stay far away from this app.
