Great BUT

I’ve been using this app since October and love it. Finally decided to get an Apple watch to pair with it so I wouldn’t have to use my phone. I can almost never get it to run properly on my watch. 1 out of 20 sessions it works. It either freezes up, doesn’t sync, or continues to end my workout. Pairing with my Wahoo heart monitor never works, earbuds seldom pair. So now I always run with my phone but even then the app always freezes on my watch, I can never look at my watch to see any data on my run. Instead I find I have to stop and pull out my phone. Very frustrating


Ditched the gym & have been using Pear for two years now

I like the idea, the workouts and that you can track your effort rate. However the App has major issues. 1. If I call SIRI during a workout by accident because the phone locked and I’m exercising the workout quits unexpectedly. Very annoying. 2. The Apple Watch app really needs improvement. It will quit responding. It will not pair. A new workout will not start even if you do it on the phone. Is like they are completely different apps.

This app is a great “coach” if you are training by HR Zones. I enjoy the feedback from well-known and popular coaches like Jenny Hadfield and Deena Kastor while I run.

I have been using Pear with a HR monitor for at least 2 years and now I never workout without it. I use it for Yoga, running and cardio. Its great having a coach in my ear. Really best to use with HR monitor. I use POLAR and it works great.

I really love using Pear! I try to use everyday in some way. It’s goes great with my Mio watch.

Noticed improvement in gps track (or could be the newer iPhone) When hrm fails would be great to be able to manually add avg hr I run Garmin in tandem but need pear for coached workouts. Also need option to stop audio interruptions during music playing. Obviously can adjust volume on both but when I mute coach it still interrupts music w lowered volume such that I can’t hear for a while - maddening when listening to an audiobook!

I just completed my first “session” in my 8 week plan, and I’m excited for what’s in store. I LOVE the fact that I don’t need to have my phone in hand in order to do my workouts, as I purchased an Apple Watch solely for this purpose— no regrets! The only request that I have, right now, is for the addition of more stretch routines for total body. For me, that will be a much appreciated addition as I get really tight and often am not stretching all of the right muscle groups, requiring me to hire someone to stretch me out, and I don’t have the money for that.

I really like the workouts offered and would probably pay for the premium version of this app but there is no way to turn the audio (coach & music) off so can listen to what I want- books, podcast, etc. so will not keep it unfortunately.
