How to Destroy a Great Product

JBM997

I purchased Parallels Access about a year ago in search of a better remote access to a Windows machine from my iPad. I had tried several competing products, many of which worked but had some flakey performance or connection issues. Parallels Access was simply fantastic. It worked smoothly, elegantly, without a problem. It connected quickly and was a joy to use. Then they “improved” it. The latest version is total crap. After connecting easily dozens and dozens of times in the past, it will no longer do so. I have just spent 45 minutes in endless loops trying to sign in with my old login, sign in with my Apple login, change the password and sign in, etc., etc. It acknowledges the account, then sends an email confirming the login [I follow the instructions in the email], then sends a two factor authentication number, and then another email [I follow the instructions in the email], (to each of the multiple emails and texts I’ve responded), then acknowledges these prior steps and sends ANOTHER email for me to confirm, then RESTARTS the entire log in process!! There is a link to request technical support BUT THEN IT REQUIRES YOU TO SIGN IN TO GET TECHNICAL SUPPORT! If I could sign in I wouldn’t need technical support! Duh. Who has time for this nonsense? The latest version of Parallels Access is a mess.

Now you have to pay

Got this app about a month ago. Only used to edit Microsoft docs when not home. Loved it. Now, with the latest update, users have a six day trial before they’re forced to subscribe to use it. Not worth it. Back to the free and slightly more un-user friendly VNC app.

Small screen iPhone X

Doesn’t work on iPhone X

It’s good but

lolo7270

It doesn’t fill the whole screen for iPhone X and in order to get the keyboard button to show you have to be in landscape... also if you are listening to music through your phone it cuts all other audio sources while using the app.

It works,

Jangogigalo

Works awesomely, I read that someone had problems on the iPhone X, mine is working better than my iPad Air 2.

Great when it works…

Orangermac

…but often is very blurry and doesn’t use iPhone X screen still, 3 months in.

Wow, first attempt and already buggy

1) I cannot move mouse on my Mac when logged in. As a result, I cannot end a session. This is a major drawback. 2) the app on my iPad doesn’t use full screen estate at all, despite that this is an advertised feature 3) switching desktop resolution does actually nothing at all 4) only part of the app window is visible on my screen, the rest is offside 5) cursor touches completely different part of the screen than I ask it to, even though the animated water touch effect is displayed exactly where I pointed my finger at. All in all, while I refrain from using such vocabulary, I am afraid this is a pure garbage.

Great idea, but some things don’t work so well

CaelumMagnum

Just started using Parallels Access and there are a few things that bother me: - iOS multitasking doesn’t work: it’s inconvenient that I cannot have other iOS apps sharing the screen on my iPad Pro. - clipboard sharing doesn’t seem to be an option: clipboard sharing between OSes is very convenient in Parallels desktop and would be equally valuable for an app like this - Also, text selection doesn’t seem to be working in the app as it is demonstrated in the demo. No iOS selection handles appear when I select text.

Dosent work

Akuserareta Railgun

Will not work at all, i launch it on my iPod and it goes to a black screen
