since you asked...Overcast is a very good app, not perfect but as good as you need it to be. Does the job simply and gets all the same shows as the other guys and works well. I found Overcast and tried it based on message boards when Iphone app was ruined along with millions of other people angry at the same thing. Obviously I was not alone and saw this recommended highly, yay internet! good job! Minor learning curve but worth the effort. Back up again and running my shows daily on autopilot. A few ads on a free app that works the way it should is more than fair these days.

This is by far the best podcast client I've ever used. I use this daily and never have any problems. I love the smartspeed and voice boost. I use it while riding a motorcycle (Bluetooth hands-free helmet setup) and the voice boost greatly improves my comprehension of what is being said over the road noise. I've saved over 80 hours with smartspeed so far. I love the ability to have per-podcast settings for speed and everything else, allows my music podcasts to be normal speed and no voice boost and it lets me customize the speed by how the host talks. The streaming features and chapters just make it that much better... I could go on and on, I highly recommend it to everyone.

This app is really good. It has a good number of features, such as smart speed and voice boost, that are implemented really well. I was an original purchaser so I don't see ads, but I understand the move. Apps have to make money, and it's better than paid up front.

This app is amazing. Marco really knows how to make a quality product that makes listening to podcast a joy. Does a great job with organization and features like smart speed have saved me over 60 hours of listening in the year I have been using it. If you like podcast you have to get this app!

By-far my favorite podcast app. The simplicity of the design is a major feature and makes the interface easy to navigate. The unique audio processing makes podcasts sound better and save you time. Yes, there are ads. No big deal. It's very cheap to remove them and support the app. Recommended.

I like the new business model and that I get the dark mode even though there are ads. They are well done and nonintrusive. I still have no idea why anyone would use any other podcast app.

This is a wonderful app. Glad to see the developer try a business model that simultaneously isn't disruptive to the user and ensures he can keep making the app better.

This application used to be awesome before they added advertising and requested a $10 a year subscription to get rid of it. I would be willing to pay a one time fee like $5 to get rid of the ads, but $10 a year for a phone app is kind of steep.
$10 to remove adds, buh bye...
