After Apple finally made the Podcast app completely undesirable with the Fall 2017 release, I was looking for a better option. Fortunately, a lot of other iPhone users were feeling the same way, so it was easy to quickly identify the leading alternative: Overcast. The app is intuitive to use, the design is clean, it does what it’s supposed to do. Look no further - this is the replacement you’re looking for.

I don't have many apps on my phone, but I've got this one because it provides a valuable service. Easy to find new podcasts. Easy to download and sort the episodes you want to hear.

Seriously, can there be one good podcast app? This comes close (and moves ahead miles compared to the Podcast app’s recent updates) but today I was listening to a series and I went to play the next episode and now they are gone. The entire season is gone. I wish there was more customization with playlists and queues but really I just want to design my own app since there are some features here I like and some I don’t. It’s ok but it’s not 100% reliable.

Love the app. Only complaint is that it does not rotate if you rotate your phone. This functionality was lost in one of the last updates. Please bring it back.

Simply put, Overcast is way better than Apple’s Podcasts app. If you’re an avid Podcast listener, there’s no reason not to use this app.

Features are really well thought out. This what apple should offer. Love the adjustable sleep timer and Smart Speed in particular. Only gripe is I like to see the date of the most recent podcast when I’m searching for new ones. For that reason, I prefer apple’s search feature.

The app overall is great. I use it almost every day. The only weakness I see is that it needs an on screen volume control. This is especially true for iPad. I generally have it laying down when I listen, and it would be great to have a slider. Overall though, great app. If it had a volume slider, I would give it 5 stars. Please add one.

Tried a number of different apps but keep coming back. The only thing is that sometimes episodes have the wrong name and appear to be duplicates... not sure why.
