I was absurdly happy for far too long after finding this app. I had been struggling to not scream using the default app (which was never great) after iOS11, when I ran across a comments thread where everyone mentioned this app. This app is great! After the update to include the end of episode to the sleep timer, the only thing I still am looking for is a way to save episodes from deletion. So many settings, and appreciate the dark theme.

It’s a podcast suggestion, but if I pay 10 dollars to support your podcast, I do NOT want ads!

At first I couldn’t readily tell when a podcast had a new episode but then discovered the drop down with that info. Wish this feature were more obvious. Otherwise a wonderful app. Love the alphabetical listing. Love the timing bar, easy to set back, love it!

Seemed fine initially when I had 5 podcasts listed. Then I added a longer list (25 or so) and a few playlists, and it crashed 5 seconds after next launch. I had to quit the app and hard reboot the phone for it to start downloading this morning. Not a great start. I have higher hopes for ongoing use.

...now I have discovered Overcast and love it. Fun to use, love the smart speed functionality, and more options to personalize. Great find.

The best thing about this app is that it’s free and has a simple and clean interface. However it suffers from two big drawbacks: 1. When you close the app, you cannot continue listening to a podcast where you left off. You must go back to the beginning. 2. It suddenly will stop occasionally on a lock screen. I’m not sure if this is an iOS 11.1.2 issue but it is annoying to hit play periodically. I deleted the app. If these issues get fixed, I would re-install it.

Got irritated with Apple's Podcast App. It was adequate. It would, at times play erased podcasts automatically. The mobile download cap was it irritating when I have unlimited data. Setup of the app was easy and entertaining (humor in process). More features than Apple's app, and features all look useful. Like the smart speed up too. In short, get it.

Now that this app has a sleep timer which includes “stop at end of episode”, it is officially perfect.
