Shockingly unimpressive

The app is not intuitive at all. Also, when the app opens it shows me the temp at which my heat or a/c is set to come on. How about showing me what the current temp in my room is without my having to go to yet another screen? Do the developers even use this in real life? Great potential unrealized. Hoping that an update will occur in the very near future that makes me happy I spent the money for the “high tech.”

looking for the truth
December 11, 2017 update: Since getting this update I can no longer listen to the audio of what is going on in the room using any headphones!!!! Completely useless since I always have my Bluetooth headphones in during the day. Worked just fine until this latest update!! Now if it tells me that someone is speaking in the room I cannot hear it, if it tells me the dogs are barking I cannot hear it!! so incredibly disappointed!!!! Update June 28, 2017 So this latest update is supposed to recognize when dogs bark and people speak however I have gotten no notifications while my dogs are barking their heads off standing right in front of the camera!!! Really wish one of these updates would actually work!! Update April 20, 2017 NO NOTIFICATIONS AT ALL SINCE UPDATE! Proceed with caution. On phone with help desk now, but so far all I know is that lots of people are calling in with the same issue...wish this app would stabilize!

Version 5.17.1 no longer allows for landscape viewing (rotating the screen when turning your phone sideways). It stays put.
Nest Cam Stream: It’s great when it works

The video stream is inconsistent. Sometimes it works great, loading current video quickly and allowing for scrolling through earlier recordings at normal speed. Other times (read: recently) the app takes forever to load, the current video stream won’t play and freezes, and the feed also freezes and won’t allow for playback of earlier recordings. This is despite paying a monthly fee. What is this money for if I can’t actually use the camera as it’s intended? Please update bugs.

One job. Set the thermostat. The rest is icing. Back when nest was new, you nailed the details. Setting the thermostat was a trivially easy task. Now the screen jumps all over the place as I try to drag the set the temperature. A housecleaning at Nest is in order. This release should never have made it out the door. You've done much, much better than this Nest. Go run version 1.0 to see how it was done right.

The app is tired. They are slow to update. Still not updated for iPhone X. Can’t change zones in app? Have to use website. Video clipping controls are unusable. All this and Neat charges way too much for its monthly subscription.
Up/Down arrows don’t work anymore

Why do the up & down arrows used to change the temperature setting not work anymore? They used to. Now you have to adjust the temp using the wheel. Not as useful since it’s more difficult to change by 1 or 2 degrees.

The good; I like being able to adjust my temprature from the phone and alexa thats great also turning it off is nice to. The bad is its hard to restart it also hard to schedule you cant schedule a repeating thing and make it go across the days like you couldnfor are old manual unit thats the only thing i miss about the old unit and its also hard to put it on the exact rigt time.
