No mow send maps

After using the app since I bought the car almost 18 months ago, the function to send maps to the in dash nav from my phone has been removed. This happened earlier this week while I was traveling in French speaking Quebec where I was depending on this functionality. I called onstar support today who told me that the loss of this functionality was an error and that it would be restored shortly. Let’s see what happens.

It mostly works, I guess, but it doesn’t always register every trip and I can’t use the digital manual or videos option as these apparently don’t exist for the tourx yet and I have seen no date of when they might be available (if ever). Also wish it included a list of the options tied to your VIN number. You buy a car on the lot that has the things you want, but they come as part of a package (with other items you were indifferent to) and it would be nice to have a convenient list of what was on that package without having to go back to the sale papers.

Support for iPhone X?

Come on guys it’s been months since the iPhone X release, and still no update to support it? This is literally the last app on my phone that has yet to update the screen requirements. And probably the most important app on my phone!


Okay for basic functions

Works 80% of the time. UI needs support for iPhone X and FaceID. New rewards program is super buggy, told I need to complete my profile around 10 times, completed it each time. Fix those things and it’d be five stars.


The good and the bad

Love the lock/unlock feature to be able to leave my key fob and phone in my Regal while I go for a run. However, I wish the feature was faster, more consistent, and more reliable. Sometimes it’s fairly quick, sometimes it takes 1-2 minutes to work, and occasionally it doesn’t work at all, and then I open my phone and find the app waiting for PIN input. Luckily my phone hasn’t been locked in my car when that happens, but it feels like that will inevitably happen someday!

I was able to remote start my car daily through the app until the app was updated recently. Now I have to use my actual key to remote start it.

Have had several issues getting this to work 100% of the time. Usually works about 65-75% of the time. Mostly have to try twice to get my vehicle to start. Sometimes it won’t start at all. I would love to see them integrate some way to deal with unreliable cell and WiFi connections which I believe is the cause of all the failed remote start commands. Also Competing companies like Viper are allowing virtual assistants like Siri to start/stop, lock or unlock the vehicles using verbal commands, which would be a fantastic improvement. No idea why GM and onstar aren’t doing this as well as I would think this would be pretty simple for a company like them to do.

IWatch issues

I can no longer use the watch to start my vehicle. This has only been for the past three to four weeks. It worked fine prior to that.
