Useless

Puppydoo

Only provides theoretical information with little relation to reality. Rarely knows when trains are delayed. Useless!

Borderline useless

Phineas1011

Still ‘data not available ‘ messages, and screen often doesn’t refresh.

Great when it’s right

Before you leave home you can check the schedule and time your exit. But, sometimes it’s wrong. I’m at Times Sq now and the app says 10 min for the downtown 3. Actually, here it is. Just doesn’t match the countdown screen or actual trains. If they get it right though it’ll be very handy indeed.

Don’t update

Laredo2222

Much like the MTA itself, the update is a waste of time. Now the app is nonfunctional. ??

Not slick, but works

Clover the Goat

Reliably pulls the info from MTA’s real-time tracking data, which I find accurate 90-95% of the time when things are running smoothly. There are glitches sometimes, but not the fault of the app. It really helps me make decisions about if and where to make a connection to another train. An obvious improvement would be for the app to detect its location so you don’t have to manually choose it. Also a favorite station section would be handy for commuters. I also think the app could be more robust recovering from the frequent loss of connection you get in the tunnels. I find I sometimes have to quit and relaunch the app to get it to refresh.

something wrong lately

Soundman245

The app has been minutes out of sync on the #1 line lately, causing me to miss trains. Otherwise it ha a great app, but i with you could set favorite stations in the home page to save going through the menu every time.

It's ugly but it works

thewolley

You tap on the number of letter of the train line you're waiting on, select the station you're in and it shows you the time till next arrivals. Sure, the interface is hideous but it gets the job done. Cheers!

Horrible user experience

TheMechanic404

Poorly formatted, no alerts, ugly UI. Looks like it was created for an iPhone 5 SE. My expectations were met. The MTA let me down again. Removed from phone in 2-3 mins.

Helpful but need to be able to create favorites

MKftuuuuijhgt

This app is very helpful but the UX is not good in that I can’t set favorite. I’d guess that 95% of people only want info on the same 3-4 stations stops, don’t make me middle through all the stations in Bronx and Manhattan when I only want my 2 stops I’m Brooklyn

Does not use live data

The countdown times are nice, letting you know how far out a train is from the station you’re at. It’s actually very helpful. Unfortunately, they’re apparently using schedule data and not anything related to where the trains actually are. It just happened to me again, standing at a platform watching the time count down to zero, but no train ever arrived. I then watched the time count down again and the train arrived as expected. The electronic overhead signs in the stations are much more accurate than this app. I could have walked 2 blocks to another station for a different train saving me 25 minutes. MTA, if you’re reading this, it was D train at Columbus Circle, 06/11/18 02:30 downtown train to Stillwell Ave. With accurate data, I could have walked to the Q at 57th St & 7th Ave.
