Does not use live data – MTA Subway Time Review

The countdown times are nice, letting you know how far out a train is from the station you’re at. It’s actually very helpful. Unfortunately, they’re apparently using schedule data and not anything related to where the trains actually are. It just happened to me again, standing at a platform watching the time count down to zero, but no train ever arrived. I then watched the time count down again and the train arrived as expected. The electronic overhead signs in the stations are much more accurate than this app. I could have walked 2 blocks to another station for a different train saving me 25 minutes. MTA, if you’re reading this, it was D train at Columbus Circle, 06/11/18 02:30 downtown train to Stillwell Ave. With accurate data, I could have walked to the Q at 57th St & 7th Ave.
