Besides the negative comments... For me it has actually been quite useful... Although the rewards usually take about a week to show up

I received an email saying I can do an early check in if I download the app. What they fail to tell you is that if your room was booked through a third party (Priceline, trivago, etc.) then you will not be able to do an early check in. You are only eligible for early check in if you booked directly through the Marriott. Even if you are a rewards member, which makes zero sense. So if you booked your room through a third party, save the effort and don't waste your time downloading this app.
Be aware of being overcharge.

As a business owner I really have to have something bother me to leave a negative review.BUT Please be aware!!! None of reservation we made online was correct. This hotel is under renovation. There is no pool or gym. If you are paying for the balcony you may have a view like mine of an AC unit. I normally always chose Marriott. This experience has changed that (most of the staff is great James & Tim thank you - Jennette maybe working with the public is not your gig, your lack of concern is well noted) . If you book online or on the app you will be grossly overcharged ($299 on weeknight and $184 on weekends) But everyone else in the hotel was charged $123 a night - at check in we switched cards and they still booked us at the 299/184 rates, even after they said they would change them to the lower rates 123. So folks check your statements! I even called corporate yesterday after we checked out and moved to the Hilton and they said we only had been charged for the one night, they offer us a free night - which we should still get, maybe we won't because of our reviews. But honesty is not for sale. People should know about the Marriott Corporation.
IPad app freezes when updating credit card expiration

I'm unable to complete booking my reservation because it freezes every time I try to enter an expiration date for my credit card. Extremely frustrating.

Because no company would claim they do so much on an app, email you to download it and check into your room, to only find out all it does is let you request a slightly early check in. Seriously?
