I allowed this app my location because it was required to use it but about a day later weird people showed up at my house saying that they saw that we had a lg tv for sale at 2 dollars

All I was looking for is an app to act as a remote for my TV. If it needed to pair with the original TV remote that would be fine - I HAVE IT. But NOOOOO, in order to use the app I need to allow LG to TRACK MY LOCATION????! Over $3k for this ‘smart’ TV and I need to let them know where I am to be able to turn it on and off with my phone app. LG....IN THE WORLD OF IDENTITY THEFT. FIREWALLS TO PROTECT OUR PERSONAL AND FAMILY INFORMATION...THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO REASON FOR YOUR TV REMOTE APP TO EVER CONNECT TO THE INTERNET, LET ALONE TRACK THE USER’S LOCATION. IT SOULD EITHER PAIR WITH THE ORIGINAL REMOTE OR DIRECTLY WITH THE TV VIA THE LOCAL NETWORK! FIX THIS!!!

There’s no reason to require precise location information to find a TV’s MAC address on my local network and pair to it. Disappointed that this is the first experience with the app and I’ve had to just delete it straight away.

What happened? This app no longer works. I think it is telling me to use a different one but that one has very limited functionality.

Loaded the app and opened it. The opening screen came up and nothing else. Oops.

Cheaper and less frustrating to buy a new remote. Most times the app says it cannot find my tv and I am literally standing 2 feet away from it. I restart my phone and my tv about 10 times and try again, it is 30-40 percent success rate. I then give up the other 70 percent. It this app worked, it would be awesome.

Worked great. Now, I’ve been getting a “both devices aren’t connected to the same WiFi” error message for 3 weeks now. I can assure you they are both connected to the exact same WiFi. I’ve even double checked and have even reset each device. Might as well delete the app now that it serves me absolutely no purpose.

A good app w/ unfair reviews

The reviews for this app are harsh and I have to assume from people who are not used to using their phone as a tv controller. The app works fine and really covers all the needs I could imagine. There are improvements I would be happy to see (ios14 widgets, persistent RV connection, etc) but it does everything I actually NEED it to do. Volume, power and all feature of my original remote are in here and work like I would expect. Less delay and connection issues than the Apple TV remote app.

Clunky and Doesn’t Cast Everything

Don’t do what I did and think this works like Chromecast. It won’t mirror your actual screen. To show anything from your phone (like photos, recorded videos, etc), it’s not as simple as hitting play. You have to upload the content to this app (which took forever), and even then it didn’t work right for me. I deleted the app the same day.

Would be better if you could allow airplay or allow screen mirroring for iphone because this app is worthless
