Fantastic!

This app is a godsend. And it is cheaper at 2.75% than any other payment payment app I’ve seen. And yes - it’s an app on a phone… but the customer service is excellent. I had a question and via email, the delightful Jules answered me with patience and detail. And it felt personal, not just scripted which as you know can make your head explode. It is great to be able to tell clients this is a secure, HIPAA compliant app just for therapists. I recommend this highly.

Enjoyable App Specifically For Therapists

I recently started at a new practice and am considered an “independent contractor,” meaning I was responsible for setting up my own payment method for use with my clients. As I asked around, many used Square readers, and some even used Venmo. I was uncomfortable with Venmo for HIPAA compliance reasons and found Square to be clunky in having to physically swipe/insert a card after each session. I also had privacy concerns with Square’s native receipt function, and wasn’t too keen on having to wait to see a client in-person to charge for no-shows/late cancellations. I also looked into options like SimplePay, which was way too expensive for an individual, and was feeling quite overwhelmed and frustrated at the options available… *enter IvyPay* This has been amazing. Everything was simple to set up, including getting a signed customized BAA, as well as linking my bank information. I have been able to seamlessly incorporate the IvyPay setup in my standard phone consultation/initial client set up, and clients never have to think about it again! I complete my note on my computer and pop over to my phone/tablet to charge the client, and receive a text immediately that the charge has been applied and that a deposit is on its way. I read in some other reviews that newer users have experienced delays in receiving their deposits, but wanted to offer my own experience. I did not notice any significant delay in deposit initially, but it took a couple days for my first client’s charge to deposit to my account. After this, I’ve seen quicker turnaround in deposits, so I don’t consider this an issue. Other positives include a great support team (VERY fast responses from a real person), helpful monthly review of transactions automatically emailed, and real-time daily, weekly, and monthly tracking of income within the app. I have loved telling my colleague about this amazing platform and will be continuing to build my practice using this software. Some requests: 1. A no-charge way to put cards on file: I wanted to get my clients’ cards on file prior to their first session with me, and the support team showed me a way to get the card on file by charging $1 for a “session” and the refunding it, thereby canceling the charge but keeping the card on file. I would hope for a way in the future to just get the card on file without having to manually refund a fake session. 2. Desktop version: I would love to not have to switch devices to be able to charge clients. Either a secure browser version or a desktop app would be great! 3. Client statements within the app: it would be helpful to be able to process credit card receipts for clients from within the app for set time periods, or all to date. I can use my EHR system (Simple Practice) to produce superbills, but it would be great to have this feature within IvyPay. 4. A way to split deposits: As a solo-practictioner, it would be SO helpful to automatically have a certain percentage of charges deposited to a different account (e.g. having 20% of each session fee put into my business savings to effectively withhold income for taxes/admin fees, and the rest to my checking).

They don’t pay the therapists

I’ve had Ivy pay for the last six weeks and they have charged my clients the fees but they have not sent over the money to my linked bank account. I have sent five requests for money with no reply. Beware of this app.

Great customer service

I had an issue with a charge I couldn’t see in the app so I contacted customer service. Not only was the response time very quick, but the representative who helped me (Jules) went above and beyond helping me to figure out what the issue was (btw it was not the app’s fault it was mine!) Loved this app before and after this great service I love it even more.

I have been using Ivy Pay for many months now and I am extremely pleased with the customer service that I have been receiving from their support team, and in particular Charlie. They are always so quick to get back to me! My clients love the app as well because they do not need to present a card I have every session. Thank you!

wonderful service

I started my private practice in March of this year, and I heard so many recommendations for Ivy Pay that they were really the only people I considered for helping me manage credit card payments. I saw some other reviews that lamented problems with linking bank accounts and customer service issues, but I did not encounter any problems whatsoever so I guess they ironed things out. Instead I experienced a pretty seamless service with fantastic customer service, they go above and beyond the call of duty and I am always left feeling very well supported. Not that I have to call them often at all. Highly recommend.

Ivy pay is easy to use for both clients and therapist and, importantly, HIPAA compliant. Also, Ivy support is wonderful: timely, responsive, with exceptional follow-up.
