I love Instacart!

I am sick and did not feel going inside to get groceries so I ordered online for the first time. Chelsie was my associate and she did a great job! Very patient when they did not have in stock and she made appropriate substitutions and I had everything I needed. My husband picked them up. I wasn’t able to click on my pick up directions so he went inside I think to let them know he was there. A great experience! Thank You Food Lion and Chelsie

The actual app is very bad at loading pictures to see what I am buying, and most of the time I’ll be ordering something, and it shows the place is open and then when I go to checkout the delivery time will be set for the earliest being the following day and I’ll see the hours of the store and they stay open way later, so i don’t know what’s wrong with the app, also if you are ever looking to buy eggs on instacart don’t expect them to come perfect, I ordered eggs one time and I got them opened up the container and only two of the eggs out of the 12 were ok, people that work instacart are sometimes careless so wat h out for what your buying online because it could come very damaged.

honestly i am confused by all the bad reviews, and hoping that this review doesn’t jinx me! i have only used instacart twice now, but both times have been extremely pleasant. for my first order, a number of items were out of stock, or produce items “weren’t fresh” (glad my shopper informed me of that!) With the chat, I was able to quickly approve or suggest substitutions with my shopper, or have the item removed from my cart or refunded. Was it annoying? Just as annoying as it would have been if I had gone to the store, found items out of stock or not fresh, and had to think on my feet about replacements for the meals i had planned. Which is to say, no, it wasn’t a huge deal at all. I was missing a yogurt in that first order. I used the help option in the app to report it, and they promptly refunded the amount for the yogurt. Second order was an absolute dream. it convinced me to come here and write this review. my shopper got everything correct, delivered the order an hour ahead of scheduled, and did a seamless replacement on one of the items we had to correct. when the delivery arrived and I was unpacking everything, I noticed one item missing, but also that I had received 2 of an item I had only ordered and paid for 1 of. Again, I used the help function in the app to report this. Almost immediately I received (yes, automated, but efficient and accurate) emails back, refunding the missing item and advising me to “keep or donate” the extra item. As far as I’m concerned, the shoppers are angels who are helping those of us who can’t go out during a pandemic. Of course, sometimes items are missing or out of stock. sometimes the order gets a little messed up. I do not blame the shoppers at all. And when i have used the app and reached out to Instacart to have those minor errors fixed, Instacart has done so quickly and without any issue. again, maybe i’ve just had beginners luck or something, but i really do not understand all the negative reviews. this service has really changed my life, and if my experience remains the way it has been, I am definitely a customer for life.

NEVER AGAIN WILL I USE INSTACART. First of all, they said you can use your ebt card and i needed to order food because i was in quarantine for covid. But they couldn’t process my card. So i never used it and TODAY AT 1:15 am they charged me for a $99 for a yearly subscription I never signed up for. BE CAREFUL YALL. this ain’t worth it. giving it a one bc obvi i can’t give no stars whatsoever.

Poor service, deceptive user interface, and overall predatory tactics surrounding express membership. Would rather walk to the grocery store every time I need to eat than use this app again.

Not sure what the point is anymore? To order 6 bananas you have to have 6 people shop separately at once. Probably better just to use Amazon or hire your own shopper directly.

Great idea, horrible customer service

I pay for the monthly subscription, so I tend to use instacart a lot. However, after my recent experience I definitely don’t know if I want to continue. On one hand, the convenience is unmatched. However, I just ordered a 70$ quick dinner order. The app said some woman was shopping for me, then 6 minutes later said she checked out. Then it said there was an error and my stuff would be delivered by someone else. Except then my order went from 70$ to 240$. (Which for 12 items is definitely not possible unless I were buying steak or something). So I called customer service, nobody answered. Just heard my voice echo as I said hello multiple times and heard rustling in the background. Then I went to the chat, where a woman named Nikita B. Was supposed to be helping me out. She put me on a brief hold. After the hold she said, thank you for your patience, and then literally left the conversation. No solution, no goodbye. Literally just left and that’s it. So then Raul came and actually managed to help me by that point. He did say he would credit me for the inconvenience, but I’m just so appalled. And I figured I’d warn everyone to steer clear of their customer service if you can avoid it. And if this ever gets back to Nikita B: get out of customer service. UPDATE: customer service lied. Which is honestly even worse. I look in my order and a new item had been added labeled “round” and the price was 150???. So basically the shopper had scammed. But customer service blamed it on an “error” in the system. I’m disgusted. The shopper Khiara J and Nikita B. Need to be fired immediately. What a sad excuse for a company.

A two-hour delivery took four hours. I was transferred to a new shopper after the first one was unable to check out. I’m hoping the next time I use this service, it will be a smoother experience.
