We live 1 mile from the store. The app sent our shopper 30 minutes away to someone else’s house instead of dropping off our small 2 bag order on the way. So we waited an extra hour while our refrigerated food got warm...

I used this service out of complete laziness. But thank you instacart for reminding me everytime that I should pick out my own food and pick it up myself if I want to eat dinner that night. Total disappointment

Items that don’t exist and drivers don’t see the notes

This is an app of grocery items that don’t exist. You order your groceries and then go to the store to buy everything that was “out of stock”. The stores apparently don’t like to update their available items the app, but they don’t tell you that until AFTER your delivery. Maybe devs can figure out a way to track this and force the stores to keep their stock updated? Please fix the “note” field on the app so the drivers actually see and read it. Also please add a “select all” when choosing not to substitute, rather than clicking into each item to select that option.

Illegally fired people who wanted to unionize

They now charge up to $10 on top of membership fees

They found a way to double and triple charge you . It used to be good but between the membership fees the fees they tack onto each order your paying about $20 extra per order

We signed up for a free trial, never ended up using it, then had $99 taken out of our account when the free trial expired. So we’ve unknowingly had this membership for months and just realized now. Safe to say I’m not happy about it. So now I feel like we had to get our moneys worth and try the service. We ended up paying way more than what we expected on the order. And our shopper “couldn’t find” some items so we didn’t even get everything we needed and we had to go get it ourselves which defeats the whole purpose of the app. Literally wasted so much money already. It’s not worth it at all.

I’ve been a Shipt customer for years but I recently switched to Instacart because I tried it a few times and was sooooo pleased! They deliver from so many more places. My orders have always been on time and everything was correct. If a substitution was needed, i was notified and a good substitute was made. With Shipt, my orders kept getting delayed and I couldn’t get Costco delivered to my house. But Instacart delivers from so many more places that I use! I have been so happy with Instacart!!
