Don’t waste your money

I’ve had problems since first buying. I will say customer support has been helpful, however I am having more issues and have only had a month. I bought the year subscription but do not have any of the features. The app continues to ask me to buy a subscription.

Long time informant user ..

I go way back with Informant as my calendar choice, unfortunately they just lost me as a client. I like to purchase updates, enjoy the new features and reward the developers, but this Informant 5 is out of control with their constant and incessant in app pop ups and nagging MONTHLY FEES to use a simple app. If I were to implement their in app monthly fees I would be paying 8...9 dollars per month for a calendar... $100 per yr? I’m out PS The least you could do for $100 per yr is get the day to appear as a badge on your app icon.

Been using for some time. None better when all is said and done.

Terrible

I have been a Pocket Informant user for many years. I was extremely happy. I was forced to upgrade to the new version when I purchased a new phone. Once I upgraded 2 weeks ago my problems started. The new version is missing some working features of the old version. But the worst part has been, it keeps reverting to the trial version, that locks out ALL the features. This has happened 2 times. I have not been able to get support. Very frustrating.

Tasks, can no longer recommend this ap

Can no longer recommend this app. Just updated the app and the app used to let me repeat my tasks. In the new version, there is no option to repeat tasks which is a big minus. Why they got rid of this option is beyond me. I contacted support with no response Can no longer recommend the app.

Why do I have to pay twice?

I bought this app a long time ago and have all my information in it. Now I can’t access it anymore unless I update and pay a monthly charge. What’s with that?

This was supposed to HELP me organize...

daveshep64

At the end of the day, if you have a LOT of time, and experience with business and organization apps, this is probably a good app. However, for someone looking to jump into the realm of personal organizers for the first time (like myself), this is completely unintuitive at every turn. Adding events, “to do” items, calendar items, or others is just confusing from every standpoint. Example: I bring up my “to do” list. I want to add another. Do you think there is a button or a swipe gesture or some pull-down box to just add one? Nope. As a matter of fact, I can’t ever seem to add a to do item after wasting 15 or 20 minutes. Everything centers around “tags” and “ events” , “projects”, or “tasks”. BUT, then I stumble around and wind up, by complete accident, at the Tasks page. Here I can select Projects. Under that are “to dos”. Well, that is completely un-helpful and illogical. To do items should be stand alone items unless I decide they are part of a project. By a huge margin, most are not. Stop and get milk. Project? No. Fill out that form. Project? No. Meet with Bill about class schedule. Project? No. Too many views, too many nested choices, and too many things placed somewhere I would NEVER think to look for them. Just too much to learn to make it functional for me. If I had an extra hour a day to learn this software, I wouldn’t need it ... I’d just use that time on a paper list system for free. Many people seem to like it, so there must be an upside. I’ll save my $25 for the Sync account and go back to a paper planner. My other complaint is the need to purchase a separate Desktop app if you want that kind of functionality. I think a single purchase price for the ecosystem should be set. You have to pay extra to be able to sync to your free calendars, for crying out loud.

Older software was killed without warning

I was using the old 2.64 version (for the better part of a decade) and never even knew newer apps were out there for PI. I had no in-app warnings, no emails, no notice the app wouldn’t work after iOS 11. I see all the reviews saying Support can help retrieve it, so I downloaded 5 to use the Support feature and got redirected to a “helpful” blurb that said if you had already updated to iOS 11, your data isn’t retrievable. If it still is I would LOVE to know how, but based on your own Support info, you can’t. This is poor transition capability, poor communication, and poor customer service. A function to create a handoff document should have been made for the older software, or a way to auto-recognize and pull the old PI files into 5, even if the app didn’t function any more. I’m not really inclined to give 5 much more of a chance since the subscription would have me paying a high sum for the limited, but critical, functionality I need out of it.

It’s an Excellent Day Keeper App

The only thing I wish is that it had a yearly fee and not a monthly fee. And Iknow you’re like...... it does. But I wish it was like a real planner and only had a yearly fee of like $12. Does that make sense?

Full-functioned

I use this all the time, for all my events & tasks—meetings, bills due, travel. Got it originally when switching from Palm to iPhone (yes, that long ago) because I couldn’t find anything else that supported recurring meetings each month on the 1st Tuesday, 2nd Wednesday, &c. I like the ability to modify “Just This” or “all future” in a series. Time zone support is essential for travel, and the current version is easy and transparent. Defaults to local time, just like airline schedules do, but can be set for time at original entry, to shift entries automatically when you’re traveling and the teleconference remains at the same time. Also like the ability to set multiple alarms—a day or two ahead to prepare, and then just when it’s time to go. 4 stars, not 5, because 1) the calendar can be slow to come up and populate itself. Significantly worse in the current version on iPhone 7 than earlier versions. 2) Also, Setting start and end times is a little fiddly. I often scroll the minutes when I am trying to scroll the hours, and I can’t see the hours when scrolling unless I use my left thumb. The sensitive areas don’t register properly with the text. Again, this is new misbehavior.
