Pocket Informant #5

It’s a good App but I really don’t think this new version is worth paying for again ! To be truthful I think the version before this was much better. I am going back to old version! I wish I could get a refund on this version! So I don’t suggest going to the expense of switching!

I have loved them but do not anymore

No warning, nothing. Released a new more expensive platform for $25 annually and stopped supporting old calendar. I lost everything and I had already paid for it. Chemo schedule, years of calendars, just devastated! Don’t use this calendar because they will just dump it one day and you’ll lose everything.

Horrible

Green-eyed Biker

I’ve used informant for several years and endured the ups and mostly downs. New update charges 4.99 to use and now the pop up won’t close telling about informant five. Lame company and product.

Think again

If you think that you will "own" the App after paying $24.99, think again. Once Fanatic decides it is time to milk you again, they will stop updating Informant 5, release Informant 6 & start all over.

Amazing App to Stay Organized

MiladyR

I have had this app for close to a decade now I think and it continues to only get better! The interface of PI 5 is the most gorgeous so far I think and makes getting tasks and keeping appointments almost fun with cool colors and personalization options. And tech support rocks! Each iOS update likes to wipe out my data but the back up files live in my iTunes and now you have option for web sync! I was devastated last week when the new iOS upgrade wiped out my data and would not let me open the old version of PI 5! I downloaded new version and emailed their tech support staff. Within 4 hours (while I multi-tasked and answered some follow up question from PI 5 tech person), I had all my data back with a few simple clicks! Thank you and keep on making this app the best!

A great calendar and awesome task manager

1. the best calendar, hands down and always has been. Keeps getting better. No equal 2. Tasks are now mature and have all the professional features. I love the special filters and the various output formats that are avialable. This app is supposed to be an "all-in-one" for calendar, tasks, notes and contacts with a little travel assist thrown in and it does all very well. However, it takes many taps to get from one to another. Also the watch app only shows calendar for complications. The watch-app is not all-in-one. It needs to have a settings section on the phone where I can setup what I want in the complication. It also MUST have special filters in the watch app. I create a "hotlist" which is stuff that has to be done in the next three hours. To have that list on my watch would be killer. Currently it only shows DUE items. The GTD system supports started or available items and those do not appear on the watch. I only say these things because OmniFocus and Things has no problem putting multiple lists on the watch. Omnifocus allow me to choose which perspective is default on the watch. I give their watch app a 2 out of 10. Really basic, no features or options and shows double of many things all the time So a great app. does everything, now I need access to everything, easily, everywhere and on the watch. The sad part is that it is cumbersome and takes way to long to get anywhere to view my data. As for the subscription. $24 for a years subscription to “own” then another $24 each year to sync. I get that you want money. I want money. How about $24 to own then &9.99 a year to sync.

Watch Complication Not Working

So being a subscriber, how long do you expect people to wait for an update which fixes watch issues? The response that I received from support is that there is no timetable due to having to work on Mac update. Unacceptable that subscribers paid for a year , yet program is only 2/3 complete. Did all of Apple updates along with Informant 5.3 update and watch interface does not work. Support advised me that they did not work on watch and it would be an extended period before it would be fixed. Sorry but being a subscription service should not give you the right to pick and choose which parts of app you want to work on. I use watch complication multiple times a day and now useless. Wish their update notice would have said it wasn’t working. I would have probably waited until it was working to do update. Update 10/5/17 Reinstalled last version 4.xx of Pocket Informant and the old Watch complication work like a charm. So if you are a long time user you may want to switch back. Amazing how things are going backwards instead of progressing forward. Fanatic Software Please Take Note

Be upfront..

I downloaded the app but all of the “cool” features are subscription based. As far as I’m concerned you tricked me! I think they’re work paying for but not as this subscription based model. Was really looking forward to using this nicely designed app but the monetization you’re trying to get from the app functions are way too steep. One star because the greed. If u ask me, this is a group of engineers & developers who feel entitled and as such, feel validated in charging as much as they do for this subscription based model. #livingtheAmericandream

Gave up

Update: not happy. Several minor issues and one major issue with alarms and updating the Apple Watch. Was told this was a known issue but it would be an extended amount of time before a fix was in place. Cancelled my subscription immediately. For what they charge with this app as a service not communicating with the Apple Watch and having faulty alarms is ridiculous. I've been a PI fan since I first installed it on a compaq ipaq. Which sounds like an apple device but it wasn't. Been holding off on this version due to all the negative reviews. Just downloaded and signed up for the plan. I'm glad I took the plunge because the quality I remember seems to be there again with this version. I'm not a fan of subscription services for software but it seems to be the way most products are going. Yes it is frustrating to keep paying but honestly if you are the type to always buy the new versions it really isn't much different as long as the updates are steady.

I cannot trust the app

I cannot trust this app it constantly deletes events.
