This was supposed to HELP me organize... – Informant 5 Calendar Review

At the end of the day, if you have a LOT of time, and experience with business and organization apps, this is probably a good app. However, for someone looking to jump into the realm of personal organizers for the first time (like myself), this is completely unintuitive at every turn. Adding events, “to do” items, calendar items, or others is just confusing from every standpoint. Example: I bring up my “to do” list. I want to add another. Do you think there is a button or a swipe gesture or some pull-down box to just add one? Nope. As a matter of fact, I can’t ever seem to add a to do item after wasting 15 or 20 minutes. Everything centers around “tags” and “ events” , “projects”, or “tasks”. BUT, then I stumble around and wind up, by complete accident, at the Tasks page. Here I can select Projects. Under that are “to dos”. Well, that is completely un-helpful and illogical. To do items should be stand alone items unless I decide they are part of a project. By a huge margin, most are not. Stop and get milk. Project? No. Fill out that form. Project? No. Meet with Bill about class schedule. Project? No. Too many views, too many nested choices, and too many things placed somewhere I would NEVER think to look for them. Just too much to learn to make it functional for me. If I had an extra hour a day to learn this software, I wouldn’t need it ... I’d just use that time on a paper list system for free. Many people seem to like it, so there must be an upside. I’ll save my $25 for the Sync account and go back to a paper planner. My other complaint is the need to purchase a separate Desktop app if you want that kind of functionality. I think a single purchase price for the ecosystem should be set. You have to pay extra to be able to sync to your free calendars, for crying out loud.
