Terrible App with missing basic features

Misguided ambition

I am using this with an A7RIII, and the biggest issue is no touch focus. I thought maybe it was something I was doing, but searching the internet it seems it doesn’t work with the A7RIII, which is crazy. Other than that it’s missing lots of features that are in the Panasonic and Canon applications. I also hate that you have to either choose control or send on the camera. You could be able to just connect the app and use all the features.

How about save to camera roll??

The most obvious feature should be save to my iPhone camera roll... since your not saving these images in my camera roll... can I change that too? Everything else is great! Although deeper selection patterns beyond “Shot today” and “all images” would be great to download our work

Awful to use app; clumsy to setup and connect to the camera. Photos taken using the remote control feature are not RAW or full frame. Should be ashamed to release this.

GPS connection (BT to A7rIII) is very temperamental requiring force quitting the app or turning Bluetooth off and on to establish a connection. Apparently the Android version is rock solid. Wish Sony would address the issue.

This app is terrible

Just bought a Sony a6500 2 days ago and have a Iphone 7plus with this app on it. It’s doesn’t work at all, tried it multiple times and nada. As a documentary filmmaker I need to be as light as possible and not being able to connect the camera to the phone means I’d need a laptop to download the images. I’m considering returning the camera because of this app. Thumbs down.

Sony is pro ?

Using a professional sony camera is not made for the faint hearted. With a slew of features which could easily take months to master, a sony camera is a beast and can be vet technical. But one of the easiest and funnest feature is sony play memories. This feature is so powerful and fun to use. Especially if you need tight turnarounds. Easily upload images to your phone and process through Lightroom mobile or your favorite editing app. You also have the ability to control your cameras settings remotely. How powerful is that? If you have a sony camera you should have this app! Period.

Terrible app an impossible to use

Would be nice if you could actually control the Sony cameras with this app. I have two Sony cameras and love to use them. This app is impossible to use, kind of wasted effort and hardware to put nfc, Bluetooth and WiFi in a camera if nothing can coherently interact with it. Same experience using this app with RX100iii and A7Riii . Some random Sony product manager, if you are reading this, please improve this app, it is terrible as is... or better yet, fire the outsourcing contractor you are using, cause you have overpaid for a broken app.

I am so disappointed in Sony right now I could cry!! I have gone thru every setting on my new E6000 camera, and every setting on my iPhone (6), (MULTIPLE TIMES!!) and I am still unable to get this app to do ANYTHING! When I try to scan the QR code nothing happens! When I try to connect via Wifi- I get an info screen on the camera that only gives the option to Cancel! It will not advance to connect to the phone. Some paths just go around and around- starting over on the connection-step instead of advancing to the next step! VERY FRUSTRATING & VERY ANNOYED!! I expected better from Sony!!

Four years have passed since I wrote my review!!!! Nothing has changed about this app!!!! What utter garbage. Sony makes the best mirrorless cams and the worst app for them! They should be embarrassed. 4000 camera with a 25 cent app. This thing is horrible. You can only send small files the connection process is like hooking up a Wifi network. It’s trash. They need to make a new app. This has been out for years with absolutely no improvements. You wanna lead the camera game? Have the software to all people to create on the go. Sony you should be embarrassed.
