App works as advertised. However, it will not take a photo any better than a fine resolution. Using the app to trigger the shutter will only result in a fine jpg being stored to the camera memory card. A raw photo will not be stored regardless of the quality setting. Also, the app will not work when one of the memory recall locations is in use. I’m using an A6300.

Impossible to connect with my Sony a6500 come on Sony step your application game up.

Takes 20 taps on screen to use the app the first time (I counted). Then the app has some of the stupidest instructions. Start the app, then close and restart the app, then turn off WiFi, turn on WiFi, turn on the app (again). Then watch the app crash ... and start all over again. App is useless. Pathetic for Sony to even make this app available.

Once I figured out the best way to use, I love it for copying pictures to phone to message to friends and family. My iPhone7 Plus has a good camera, but it can’t come close to the a7rii. Turn the a7rii to send to smartphone, select on smartphone. Change phone wifi to what camera tells you to use. Open playmemories app. Phone pix previews show by date and are easy to navigate and select. Remember to change default copy size from full to 2M or VGA, or you will download 40m files to your phone. Great job, Sony!

I have seen some negative reviews but the app works most every time I’ve set it up right. easy to transfer pictures from my a6000 to my iPhone 7. It took a minute to figure out how to use it but once you get connected just open the app and the pictures you’ve shared will appear.

You can set your white balance, focus and other settings ahead but as soon as you use the app, it locks everything into auto mode. Not useful at all for people actually trying to do professional work.

The app still looks like 10 years ago. Even copying photos to phone is not pleasant. Come on Sony! Need a serious update

I have an iPhone 7 and 6, not possible to use as remote or even to select NFC transfer. Only service available is sharing images via WiFi, which actually works well thus 2 stars... but doesn’t deserve more. Ps: I have a Sony rx100 V

I use this app a lot! Very handy having its own wifi on the camera when you're out and about. I also like using the iPhone's own GPS location on the photos. Always works great! Thank You Sony!
