Was recommended by a friend and I must say I love it

I absolutely love this app. I was reluctant at first because of all the reviews (I had version 4) but I decided to try it. I don’t regret the upgrade. Makes organization so much easier! Plus I just love all the features that have been implemented. It does glitch at times but it’s been rare for me.

I really like the new design and better functionality of where the buttons are now as compared to GoodNotes4, but 5 sometime has delayed writing (as in it takes a few seconds for the paper to show what I wrote) which never happened in 4.?

Not Friendly for Styluses that are Not the Apple Pencil

Although the ability to configure palm rejection is great, the lack of ability to turn off palm rejection is highly disappointing and seems like common sense to include. The only option that appears for thin-tipped styluses is “low” (as mentioned on the GoodNotes 5 support page), but, sometimes, your palm doesn’t interfere with writing. That means whole letters will continually be erased, slowing writing time. I have to write the letter “s” dozens of times for it to be recorded, making this a very inefficient app to use. I also find that this makes the tops of some of my letters disappear. Palm rejection makes this app act erratically.

I love this app so much! I use it for college and it makes note taking so effortless. My favorite tool is the lasso because I often need to move things around, whether that’s adding to a section or taking away. I think the only improvement I would like to see is an update in the Notebooks. I use a Notebook for each class, so it would be helpful to create “chapters” within the notebook for someone like me to use for my lessons. Other than that, this app is well worth the money and I love it!!

I love love love it. It is such an awesome tool to have. I love to hand write things but kept losing all my notes, calendars and papers. Now I can do it digitally and I always know where it is. I can’t say enough good things about it❣️

Can’t believe I haven’t written a review for this app yet. I use it at work and home every day to organize all of my tasks, notes and ideas. I’ve used this app for a few years now, and the developers have continued to improve it and add features. I’ve also been part of beta testing and know firsthand that the developers really care about the stability and usability of this app. I love that I can create my own custom templates, and that there are plenty of standard ones to use as well. Best app on my iPad. I don’t use paper for notes anymore.

Need audio recording.

Product works great except there is not audio recording. GoodNotes cant give us any timeline of it being released so unfortunately, I had to download notability to use for most of my note taking.

Stylus Issues

I bought this App and a Wacom Sketch stylus because I wanted to start using a Commit30 calendar. I need GoodNotes 5 for this calendar to work. But guess what, GoodNotes 5 is only compatible with Apple Pencils! I’d love to get a pencil but my iPad is too old. GoodNotes 4 was compatible with non Apple stylus, so that feature was lost in the “upgrade.” Wacom also lists GoodNotes as a compatible app. Major disappointment! Handwriting is terrible without the Bluetooth pairing.
