Best Note-taking app

BevinM

Impossible to beat this. And now that you can search for words even written in your handwriting, it has become indispensable. I use this for everything - from language learning notes, to music chords database

It seems like a good app until my chicken scratch Apple Pencil handwriting... like could we get a stabilizer for the pen? Too much too ask? Otherwise a great app

Love it, port it! Windows Surface

telmore007

Lost a star for not on Windows. Love my Surface Go. I really want it on it. I use it as a digital happy planner and notebooks. Would also be cool if you add more pen colors. Like the rainbow and galaxy multicolored ones on OneNote.

Very glitchy when using for day to day business applications.

DSmith37

Very glitchy when trying to use for real business applications, is not consistent when using day to day and makes meeting notes and other note taking extremely unproductive. Have to rewrite time and time again. Previous versions seemed to be more stable for actual day to day business usage. Would bypass using this product before investing a lot of time trying to make it work for documents and notes.

The only reason I purchased this was to be able to use it on all devices as their blog states and even show a picture of it on a mac book. However there is no app for MacBook!

Syncing with Google drive would be really nice to have. So is audio recording.

GoodNotes 5

I don’t like that when u change the templet the page goes small GoodNotes 4 didn’t do that and I couldn’t figure out how to put it back to its original size I even email them for help I did what they told me still didn’t work the page was still small

Needs one more feature

Jojo80011

This is a great app, but needs the ability to scroll horizontally and vertically at the same time. This would give a larger surface to draw onto.

Best note taking app hands down

I purchased good notes 5 after watching so many reviews online and ended up loving it. I am all about functionality and workflow. After using the competition for a while, and comparing good notes to other features of competitors, I realized that good notes has the best functionality with the selection tools provided in the app. I am also using this for school and taking notes in class. This app provides tons of templates for note taking such as the Cornell method of note taking. I would highly recommend this app To everyone. I use my iPad more and more each day.

GREAT notes with iPad Pro

I’ve been an Evernote user for years, but found myself coming back to paper and pen. I tried OneNote for a while, but the handwriting recognition is slow an unpredictable. I gave Notability a try, but didn’t like the organization of it. Some colleagues had mentioned GoodNotes so I gave it a try. Wow! What a difference from the competition. At first, I was put off by the paging - in EV and OneNote, you have a single, infinite page. However, limiting each note to a page simplifies the usability. The iPad is like using a paper notebook, you can turn pages, and exporting pages is superior to OneNote - in OneNote you end up with writing being clipped at page boundaries. GoodNotes search is very good, and responsive. The outline tool allows you to build indexes on the fly, and the writing feels much more natural. After using it for the last 3 weeks I feel qualified to give this 5 stars. I’m looking forward to the Mac client, and would like to have the ability to have 2 notes open in split screen, but as it stands now this app is excellent.
