I LOVE GoodNotes. I can’t express that enough. I recently switched from using paper notebooks (after using all of mine up). I was a little apprehensive about how using an app to take notes would be, but it is so much better than a regular pen and paper! (For me anyway). I love the flexibility of adding pages, reordering pages, having multiple notebooks, being able to use different paper types. I have a planner, a bullet journal, an emotions journal, a work notebook, and a work planner. I take full advantage of the app’s functionality, and would highly recommend it to anyone looking to make the transition!
Good but one annoying flaw

I love using this app in my college classes because it allows for me to easily sort things into different categories and remain organized. I operate GoodNotes on my iPad and have had the app for a month or so. When using the hi lighter and occasionally the pen, I find that when I pick up my stylus to hi light another line of text, a random line is created trying to follow my pen. If I hi light something on one page and move to the next page, I will go back and find a hi lighter line from where I last left off going all the way over to the edge of the page. It is very finicky and annoying. I found that this happens 9 out of the 10 times I use the hi lighter. I have updated the app and reconnected my Apple Pencil and nothing seems to fix this glitch.
Slides get cut off if not converted to PDF

This app was amazing to use in nursing school instead of printing a whole 100 slides, but then the app started cutting off my ppp or slides and I would miss information and get questions wrong on my exams.
File doesn’t update from iCloud (Not fixed in 5.4.2)

Switched on auto-backup (to OneDrive) for one file on iPad Pro 3rd Gen After each change to file, it successfully updates from iCloud to iPad Mini 5th gen, but not my iPhone X (I didn’t switch on auto-backup on these 2 devices) Re-installed GoodNotes 5 on iPhone X. iCloud reloads all other files except this same file with auto-backup turned on (on iPad Pro 3rd Gen) Pls fix soon. Thks

I’m coming from good notes 4 which is my favourite app on iOS. The only thing i felt was lacking was a more polished UI. Food now 5 offers the polished ui and a more intuitive layout to organise its pdfs but the app crashes alot. Simple things like air drop have a 50% of boy working. Constant freezes and crashes. I can’t wait for a fix. But until then, don’t get this.

This is by far my favorite note app/everything organizer. It’s literally changing my life. I have one feature request: the ability to create a notebook template consisting of multiple and different pdf’s. That alone could make most of my workflows paperless. thanks for all your hard work!

Hey! So, I use this app every day and I absolutely love it BUT I have a few suggestions to make it more volatile - It would be cool to be able to save more than one font setting, I usually use three different fonts with different settings on each and it gets frustrating when I have to keep interchanging between all of the settings every time - I absolutely love Notability’s “Hold to Shape” function, I think it is a valuable add on for physics and math students that have to pull out a fast graph all the time during lectures - For iPad users with a 12.6 inch screen to work with, it gets a little annoying to have to reach all the way in the tool bar from top or bottom, I would love it if the bar could be movable on any side of the screen without having to go all the way in the settings to change it too. Kinda like Procreate’s tool bar. - It is so common to create schedules with PowerPoint and then transfer them to GoodNotes to keep the Link function between tabs. It would be nice if this function was in GoodNotes as well without having to use multiple apps to create a weekly schedule. - I think it would be an amazing addition if it were possible to create graphs and pie charts just like in Word - Last but not least, being a Math student myself, I would very much appreciate it if the Convert function (from handwritten to Text) could also Convert advanced Calculus symbols like equations and integrals. That’s it, I will keep using this app because it is the best option out there, but it could be better ✌️ Keep up the amazing work!
