Doesn’t work anymore

Nickyl27353

Used to work on my iPhone 5s. Now I have an iPhone X and I can’t seem to open the app at all.

Not working

cuckysue

I’m only on a free trial version with 7 uses. It’s not blocking anything. In fact, I’m supposed to be blocked from this right now but here I am. I understand that it might take me a few times to figure this all out and understand it but with only 1 of my uses being able to block the apps and the other six for internet searches, I have gone through all my chances of figuring out how to block myself from my apps without successfully blocking myself from anything. Maybe if I purchase it maybe it will work but how would I know? I’m not going to buy it.

Ineffective —> Improved

4/2018: Freedom updated the app after many months and they seem to have resolved my first issue below. 12/2017: 1. With the new apple update I have to open the app to engage the schedule. So it doesn’t block anything automatically, which is the primary weapon against distraction. 2. Freedom for PC requires only a right-click and “quit” to unlock the block. Basically worthless. There are free blocking programs for PC that cannot be worked around.

Good App but inconsistent at times.

The apps generally works but sometimes it doesn’t block everything. For example If I set the block it works the time/day. However if I set at recurring sometimes I have to open the app for it to start even though I set it as recurring. I think that bug needs to be fixed but that’s it.

Zero stars for freedom and iTunes Store

I received a coupon code for the freedom subscription for 40% off. Tried to use it on the App Store but I accidentally touched the button that enrolled me for the yearly subscription (and by the way there’s no way to use the code on the App Store, you have to go through he website). Well, with subscriptions on the App Store *there is no way to cancel your purchase.* you can only cancel the subscription, which takes into effect at the end of the current one. Soooo I just paid full price for a yearly subscription by accident and cannot cancel it for a while freaking year. I have contacted both freedom and iTunes spport and neither can help me somehow. Even with the freedom “60 day guarantee”. Super thumbs down for customer service all around. Don’t purchase subscriptions for anything on the App Store if you can help it!

Good concept, poor execution

I subscribed to the premium version when the new update offered an in-app purchase option. Sadly, it’s buggy and works inconsistently. Wish I had selected the month-long subscription instead of the yearly. Feels like I just blew $30. Still waiting for a response about a refund...

Almost exactly what I wanted!

TripHopHiker

It looks like I picked the right time to look for an app like this, since it looks like they just added the Safari content blocker implementation in version 3.0, which is exactly what I wanted for scheduled blocking of websites. Update 2: It’s a little clunky that it has to display a notification to reopen the app when iOS stops it from running in the background, but that doesn’t happen very often and still mostly keeps me honest in following the schedule. I assume it would be poor performance for the content blocker itself to have to keep checking the time and schedule for each request, if possible at all, so it relies on the app running in the background to do this and maybe even get triggered by iOS at scheduled times.

Used to love it, now it doesn’t work

AbbieReviews16

I used to love this app. Even though the scheduled sessions never worked for me until I actually entered the app, it was still worth paying for premium. Now it doesn’t work for anything! It doesn’t block Instagram as others mentioned, and for me it doesn’t block any other apps either. It will block the Safari version, but not the app version, of sites like Twitter, Poshmark, and Snapchat. I feel ripped off.

Ok...

Sandman96

Inconsistent with reliability. Also it could really used a time cache mode also. Say i want to use instagram for only 10 mins a day but can’t routinely schedule that to do for an exact amount of time? A fixed app-use based timer would be so good. It’s a great idea, but needs a lot of improvements :)

Doesn’t work

I have an iPhoneX. This app would have been great if it actually worked. My main problem app is youtube but I was able to access it the whole session.
