Waste of time

Doesn't work

This app only blocks specific websites and all apps at once. Though it claims to be able to block specific apps, it doesn't work.

Not worth it

CMauritius

Great app to block social media apps but the monthly payment is kinda not worth it

Does NOT block iOS apps

The app only blocks Safari websites, not iOS apps.

Almost exactly what I wanted!

It looks like I picked the right time to look for an app like this, since it looks like they just added the Safari content blocker implementation in version 3.0, which is exactly what I wanted for scheduled blocking of websites. Update 2: It’s a little clunky that it has to display a notification to reopen the app when iOS stops it from running in the background, but that doesn’t happen very often and still mostly keeps me honest in following the schedule.

Doesn’t work properly with iPhone

I tried this app because I specifically wanted to block apps on my iPhone. It doesn’t work that way.Evidently it has something to do with the way Apple’s iOS is built. There is a help page for this, but you must have an account to set up the block list (ie pay for the app). As I am still trying it out... I was therefore unable to properly test this. So really it beats the purpose of the trial period. The phone app has a settings page where you can flip on or if off what you wish to block. After leaving the app (still running in background) when I came back to it, it had reset all of the items I had selected and saved. The default block list Idid work on the web browsers (safari and chrome). Basically… If you have a lot of time available to mess around with something like this, I’m sure it works fine. But the whole purpose of me getting this was to make sure that I was utilizing my time effectively. This is not an effective use of my time. Oh... and it’s very expensive.

great in concept, much less so in practice

I find this app to be very frustrating to use for several reasons. First, echoing another reviewer above, initially this app worked like a charm across all my devices (2 Apple and 2 Windows), but after several months, some functionality stopped working. For example, it no longer blocks Instagram at all. I contacted tech support and they have always been very responsive, but their suggestions are often to do really obvious things like uninstall/reinstall, or delete sessions, blocklists or media and then re-add. At one point, Firefox would not block any websites at all, and after I emailed them they apologized for the inconvenience, were aware of the problem, and then sent me a new version with a fancy App Blocking feature. Here, I could just choose to NOT use Firefox, which seemed unideal, but I went along with it. I did this, and it worked for a little while, but after several months, it stopped working altogether. So now I have an app-blocking setting to Firefox but Firefox still launches and browsers where I want to go. My finally complaint is the interface itself. I have a Regular Session to block out 5 days from social media and news sites, but trying to edit this is unintuitive and sometimes does not work. Sometimes I can click on my Regular Sessioin block and sometimes I cannot. There is no simple way to just edit it to how you want. So my conclusion is that I really want to like this program, which is great in concept but much less so in practice. It has proven time and again to be less useful, less reliable, and more and more frustrating to try to use. Hopefully they'll figure this out and it will work like a champ soon, because if not, I will likely not renew my yearly subscription to it.

Very useful

This app has been great for me. I used to wake up in the middle of the night and mindlessly browse the internet. Now I can’t. ? Yes, you have to have the app open for the sessions to run correctly. But I think I can take a little personal responsibility towards breaking a bad habit ? I also found that if I log out of the Pinterest and Instagram apps, then I can’t log back in until the session ends. I’m very thankful for this app!
