I normally don't write reviews but this software literally bricked my whole computer, could no longer connect to any internet after freedom did its job, even if I wasn't in a session. Save yourself the headache and do not download this horribly written software.

1. With the new apple update I have to open the app to engage the schedule. So it doesn’t block anything automatically, which is the primary weapon against distraction. 2. Freedom for PC requires only a right-click and “quit” to unlock the block. Basically worthless. There are free blocking programs for PC that cannot be worked around.

Totally Useless

This app is a great idea but they totally miss the bar. This app CANNOT block the Facebook or Instagram apps which are the only 2 reasons I need an app blocker in the first place. Once they step it up and actually make this app work for the reasons people need it then I’ll be happy but it’s useless as of now.

When I first bought it it worked great, it's amazing how much you can get done when you're bored. But recently it stoped blocking and there is no way to get it to work. It seems like another company that built a nap and then walked away because it works less and less.

Way to get around it

I like the concept and the ability block all access to internet. However, if you delete the app, you will be able to access whatever you were trying to block. Would be much more effective if you couldn’t delete the app. What’s the point of having it if I can get around it?

I really loved this app this summer, which is why I paid for it; however, in the last couple months it’s been sort of useless. It doesn’t start unless I open the app, which defeats the purpose for me. And it no longer blocks Instagram. Yes, I could delete it, but then I wouldn’t need freedom, would I?

It works inconsistently so it’s kind of annoying that I pay for it. Scheduled sessions sometimes only work when you open the app, so you can waste time all day if you’d like without the block ever activating. Sometimes scheduled sessions don’t work at all and you gotta start an impromptu session instead. There are also tons of apps it won’t block where its only real advice is “delete the apps then block the App Store” which is just kind of obtuse. When the app works, it’s great. And there isn’t really a better alternative that I can find. But there’s a lot they could fix about it.
