Gen 2 Hardware is great but this V3 application is buggy

Richard295

The application hangs up viewing in IR for some variable period of time. After restarting the hung application, a real color image is displayed rather than an MSX image. If the temperature display option is selected, it shows the correct IR temperature on the true color image. The Gen III gives you the option to go back to MSX but, with Gen II hardware you have to delete and reinstall the application. You can determine the problem is in the application rather than the hardware because after the FLIR ONE app stops working, you can still correctly display IR images in other IOS applications designed for use with the FLIR1. Sometimes the the V11 IOS also has to be hard reset to get back to a MSX display with Gen II hardware.

Amazing Infrared Camera

The app could benefit from simplification on startup. Just want quick access to my camera without the fluff.

Upgrade that broke the app.

Review on Oct/5/2017: the new app (3.0.81) is still FAR WORSE than what the older one I have on my other ios device 2.0.52. The old one is faster, the new one is laggy and the motion is jerky, even though the new one is installed on an ipad pro 10.5 with more RAM and much faster CPU than the other one (iphone 6s+). Pity I can’t get the old version into my ipad. Old review: I noticed that the app FLIR Tools for iOS is capable of displaying a temperature scale bar and to measure the temperature on any saved image. It would be VERY USEFUL if the FLIR ONE saved in the image (e.g., to the side), a COLOR BAR SCALE showing the temperature range vs. color. Also the image occasionally freezes for a few seconds. Not a big deal but could be improved. Lastly (see my comments on FLIR Tools for iOS and for Mac), the process of importing photos to a computer for further analysis is a bit convoluted and also not well documented.

Lots of pixelation on iPad Air 2 screen

1979 Apple ][ Plus fell in love and never looked back !

I have rented the much more expensive Flir camera models From Home Depot for the last 8 years. I would have liked to think the Flir One standard model 3rd gen and a recently updated app would at least be as good at images as the Flir models I used 8 years ago. The images are more often pixelated or blobs of colors even when the iPad is mounted and with the use of adjustable LED lighting along with regular daylight. I would hope further development for the iOS version uses the power of apple technology and APIs along with the strength of the Flir brand. At this point in time there is a great disconnect between what the flir can do and how that gets rendered on the screen of an ipad.

Works great - again...

Thanks for making it launch into camera! Fixed iPhone 8 issue in this version

Crash

XxZombieKingxX

The app keeps crashing and I cannot use the camera.

Broke my original FLIRone for 5s

BRAlNlAC

DO NOT DOWNLOAD!! I bought the FLIR one for an old 5s to breathe new life into a retired phone. Now it’s just a giant paper weight as this new version of their app doesn’t recognize my orginal FLIRone. Unbelievable. Edit: after a bunch of screwing around I figured out that you just hold down the calibration shutter and then it recognizes it. Still a huge oversight that there is no prompt to do that, and nothing happens when you plug it in.

UPDATE

Sheltonc14

Hey flir, I love your products but this last update feels like you are trying to sell me more stuff:/ it's more like a sales page than a tool for the device I bought now, is there a way to revert to the last update? Can you guys release a standalone version of the application without the social features or make the old application available in another way? *******2017 October update********* Thank you for making the app start the camera right from launch. Amazing app. Buy flir.

Pain to Use

MNuttall

When I try to use the app, it wants me to have a FLIR account. I put one in, but when I put in the password, it tells me that it is an unverified account. It recognizes the email address, but will not accept the password, even when I reset it. Makes the device worthless. Too bad. It is a great concept. I have used FLIR for a lot of years. Looks like FLIR is no longer the top scanner company.

Can’t get pictures out of app!

Be reasonable 2224

Trying to export images out of this app is extremely cumbersome. You can only export one image at a time out of the app! No option to select multiple images and export them out of the app at the same time. No option to select multiple images and delete them at the same time. No option to have images auto upload to a cloud like Google Drive where they could be quickly moved around on a computer. Tediously selecting single images and exporting them out of the app is a miserable experience. This software is a significant limitation to using the FLIR One Pro for professional purposes, as there is no way to organize/export/delete/deliver more than a single image at a time.
