Two buttons just to get past social garbage and use camera

Why is this guy's smug face on the app? Every time I open it? I just want to use my IR camera.

I'm really quite fond of my flir one camera, but I can't stand the obnoxious app they've "upgraded" this into. Some idiots listened to a marketing consultant and wasted their time and money and ruined a perfectly good product!

New version requires me to create an account and login in order to use a $400 FLIR One Pro. Total waste of time just to give FLIR my email address so they can spam me or sell it. Loaded up with ads and social junk. It's not a social gadget. It's a tool I use for diagnosing and fixing things. Way to go breaking what worked flawlessly. The font and size for the spot temperature is very nearly illegible on anything "white" hot, which is usually the point of interest. Make your text a bit smarter, toggle to black text if background is light.

iOS 10.3.3 iphone SE, worked great with no lock ups. Would like to be able to use different font color for temperature readout, light gray blends in to much with background at higher temps. If you could configure app to open in either Camera or Home screens might make some people happier with a more professional appearance. It does open in the camera screen for me if Flir one pro is connected and active when launching. This is the first time I've used a flir camera and app.

I use to use this app daily for inspections. Ever since the first big update everything got overly complicated and just plain annoying. Even the guys face on the tip and tricks link in the app looks completely confused like I did the first time I used the new app. Go back, way back, to the basics. Like when the app first came out. Less in more when connecting hardware not imbedded into a phone.
New version keeps crashing

Sept 2017 received replacement gen 2 camera. Worked for a little while until iOS 11. Now the camera ONLY shows image from “visible camera” instead of merged with “thermal camera”. Plus a repeating “plug in your flir one to see the heat” statement every time I plug it in. After 4 or 5 tries and turning off the phone or the app it works. So, could be: operator error, iPhone iOS 11 or connector, or FLIR. Since I’m not having any other issues with phone or apps am leaning to a FLIR fiasco. Fun $200 toy when it works. But sure wouldn’t want to have to depend on it. — Updated again to 3.0.74 DTL 8/15; keeps crashing. Not much else to say. Ps. Your mileage may vary. Pps. I sent them info but their email reply was boiler plate.

Tried the newest version on another phone and more often than not it only shows the visual view. Take a picture and it is saved in the visual mode, however you can edit that same photo and it has the thermal info. You can even change the color pallets. Once again your update / fix falls short... FYI, using a gen 2 unit with an iPhone 5S. Question, by chance did you guys hire the Windows 8 guy to oversee this new app??? Because that really would explain a lot... Version # 3 offers no benefit unless you have the new gen 3 unit. Any extras like viewing "thermal only" wont work with previous gens. I can do this with a 3rd party app, so it's not the unit. Why??? You stick us with this bloated marketing app and we don't get any of the new extras. I was lucky to restore my phone with a backup and downgrade (more like upgrade) back to the version 2 app... Also, 9 fixes to this app in less than 2-months is pathetic... You need to rethink how you treat your customers!!!
Only see a black screen

Since I upgraded to iOS 11, my FLIR One Pro no longer works. I then plugged in my first generation Flir and I have the same problem. The app recognizes the camera, but all I see is a black screen. In addition, the requirement to register my FLIR One pro is ridiculous. Get people to register by providing value, not by forcing them!
