Great App, but...

Design By Robert

I have been using this app for a few years now. It’s a great app for all the right reasons such as purchasing control and my favorite is instant notice of transaction use. However I am disappointed that the Finger recognition login is no longer supported and now have to log in with password on a daily basis. It was even a disappointment before when you had to at least re-login at least once a week which I assume was for security purposes. However it was tolerable. On the flip side though My credit union around the same time this stopped with CardNav has now incorporated the finger print login to their app. I will continue to use the app for reasons above and hopefully they will reincorporate the login issue. Would be nice to know for sure.

Love the app, but...

Had the app a little over a year and it’s really helpful for keeping up with the accurate amount in my account after debit card use. Actually helped prevent some fraud attempts. Like that I can turn my card on/off. Only thing is that sometime I have to refresh multiple times and switch between screens before I can see the correct balance. Also you’re supposed to enter a code for when you leave and return the app for security reasons and it doesn’t work for days sometimes. God forbid someone gets past my lock screen on my phone...

Shafting the thief

Great control over the jerks who had been stealing my card number and using it without my permission. Hasn’t happened since I got CardNav.

Good, not great. What happened to a Touch ID?

When Touch ID worked you still had to occasionally enter passwords. Why? Now Touch ID doesn’t even appear. You’re going backwards. In the event you didn’t get the memo. Fingerprint-based authentication on mobile devices has many advantages. ... The chances of two fingerprints to look similar to the fingerprint reader are around 1:50,000 which is pretty good and also stealing someone's fingerprint and building a fake finger is much harder than stealing a password.

Locked me out of my own card

Anomaly1

Great when it works—until it locks you out of access to your own card. Now I can’t log in to open my card, and payments are being denied. Of course, since it’s not “bankers hours,” I have no one to call. Major flaw. Can’t access my own money.

OK but needs improvement

Update: Still no Touch ID, still can’t paste in a password. I use random passwords from a password manager, and this app makes using them nearly impossible. Modernization of this app is sorely needed. Down to one star. Seems to be functional and handy, with some useful features. Setup WAY too difficult: I use a password manager and the app does not allow you to paste into the password field. Also, a 12 character max password length is ludicrous, especially for a financial app. Finally, I have multiple cards and the app should allow me to assign nicknames so I can easily differentiate them.

Security issues

Brain

This app provides helpful functionality but falls short in a number of areas: 1) it doesn’t make it clear that the login is not your bank login despite displaying your banks logo. So I imagine a lot of people enter their bank log-in at first. 2) the app limits passwords to 8-12 characters. Welcome back to the 1990s. 3) the app requires you to manually logout. This is inconsistent with how every other app having access to financial data performs, 4) the app does not support touchid or faceID, 5) the app doesn’t work nicely with password managers 6) the app emails you your login id after registration. While it is fairly typical to email a user their iD when they indicate forgetting it, sending this automatically at registration unnecessarily makes that half of your login credentials more accessible to bad actors on the internet. These are all fairly basic things, so hopefully the backend security is done better.

No Touch ID Again?

islaboy

It’s great that there’s another update, it needs to be periodically updated. But, after so long, I still can’t get Touch ID to function. The setting is on and I’ve tried turning off and on, restart the app but still doesn’t work. Not good for such a big update, which is sad cause I find the app useful.

Stuck on establishing connection can’t even log in

Idk what’s up with this app but I can never sign in if it goes through it’s pure luck. My card is currently turned off who knows when the app will work again. :/

Saved by CardNav

E3 app no bueno

Thank you for saving me from fraud! Someone just tried to buy dog food on my card, but thanks to this app I was alerted and called the bank in time to stop the transaction and cancel the card. ♥️♥️♥️
