I can get it to connect on my phone but not the iPad (same network). The phone screen is too small to be useful. This used to work. What happened, Canon?

Tested on Canon 6D EOS Remote USED TO work! Canon decided to disable the old “working” app and force users to download and install this new “Canon Camera Connect” app. (And force users to upgrade their phone and have a new WiFi inet connection). Canon Connect app does not work... even AFTER waiting and upgrading to the latest version of the app. THEREFORE, one can NEVER TRUST CANON to offer WiFi app software functionality for a Canons camera. Even if it may work now, you have NO GUARANTEE IT WILL WORK IN THE FUTURE (i.e. likely when you need it most on a remote assignment in front of paying customers who watch you fail to troubleshoot the broken Canon software).

EOS remote works perfectly, but Canon has disabled downloading images to my iPad. This app does not work with my camera! Also no reason to run in the background when not connected to a camera. Just stop it!.

I tried so many times to connect the app to wifi and Bluetooth, but neither of them worked. No point using this app...

Terrible app, the WiFi function never works, have to reset everything every time I try to transfer photos, ridiculous

I was (am) on vacation and dropped my pig tail that loads SD cards to my iPad. I uploaded the app and find frequently that some photos do not make the transfer. Found out the hard way the first time after I cleared the card to make room for more pics. I really expected more from Canon as I have been a Canon user for many years and currently use a 77D and a M3 (with eye piece added). Very disappointing. The first time to link a camera was a bit cumbersome but made it work. I am currently in San Juan and have not been able to find a pigtail attachment anywhere. As soon as I get home will order a new one and then delete the app. Again very disappointed. I would not (will not) use this app as a primary way to transfer pics to my iPad or Mac. Shame that when I needed it, it did not work well.

The recent updates disconnect from the camera frequently. Memory cards with large numbers of photos take forever to load. A lack of multi select for picking which photos to transfer is really poor user design. Suggestions - add support to grab last batch of photos by default. Rather than needing to load all photos on the memory card before a transfer. Allow quick multi select for a whole page or date range. Selecting one photo at a time is a poor user experience and very slow.

It simply will not connect to my M50. Canon, please hire some 9 year olds to fix your broken software.

The app usually works fairly well (far from perfect, but still a solid 3/5) but after the most recent update, the app crashes automatically upon opening.
