The Alexa app has improved a lot over the last few months. I really wish they’d work out the bugs causing the app to freeze occasionally. I also wish they’d add the ability to “wake up to Sia” as the commercial describes, to the app as well... not just on the device!
App notification not pushing to iPhone anymore

My favorite feature of alexa is the latest availability to have push notifications to both the echo and my phone via the app. I can set a reminder and it would go off on all my devices that had this app. Including a push to my iwatch. My issue is it’s inconsistent and down right just stops pushing through to my iPhone/iwatch but will still push to the android phone and the echo will announce it. So there is a glitch in the iOS version. I’ve had 2 iPhone both 5 and 6 iPhone that this has stopped pushing on. I would give 5 stars if the notifications would work properly and consistently. How am I supposed to rely on a “reminder” if it won’t remind me on my device Incase I’m not near the echo to hear it? No point in using it unless I plan on being in ear shot of the device. Please fix the iPhone notifications!!! And yes ALL my notifications are turned on in both the app and on my iPhone!

The latency in this app (or rather, in its connection to Amazon’s cloud) makes it nearly unusable. I love my Echo Dot and just wish Amazon would put more work into this app, which is by far the weakest part of the Alexa ecosystem.

Used to work, but the app has become super glitchy. I loved the list feature (especially for grocery shopping), but the app takes so long to load that it’s pointless to bother trying to open the app at the supermarket to see your list. Would be really cool if it actually worked correctly.

We got 2 echo dots for our kids - I read that I could activate freetime to manage explicit songs and search etc - but once you do that none of the skills work - even the simple ones like the night light, makes no sense. The App itself is just not very user friendly - items are buried in endless folders or in odd places - clearly it was developed with no actual user experience. Could be much more, but really fell short. Hope they update soon!

I have begun the task of automating my house using the Amazon Alexa devices. However, the app software keeps getting worse and worse. I have updated to the newest app version and my iPhone 6 is also up to the latest iOS version. Run the app and it immediately locks up. This is absolutely useless! Amazon, if you cannot even write a simple control app for your system, then I am sending my business to Google!!! Read my lips (agh... text)!

Used to work fairly well. Now that I updated I can’t even tell Alexa to disconnect to the device that’s streaming. GROSS!
