They removed the record feature

ChrisInPA

Please explain why this feature was removed from the app?

Removed Record Function from App

Promakos

Why did you remove the ability to set a recording from the app? It’s what I used the app for. Please bring that basic function back!

Make Xfinity Stream Great Again - because right now, it’s horrible

Krikkiteer

Very unhappy that Xfinity removed the “record” and “delete” features from this app, when people are not on their home wi-fi network. Prices keep going up, while UI is on the decline, as is the channel lineup. I miss V-Me (Spanish language cable channel, originally owned by PBS), and DirecTV is cheaper than Xfinity and has V-Me...now I just have to check out DirecTV to see if they have an app for their DVR.

Can no longer set recordings!

I’m very frustrated that I cannot set recording from the app anymore. Why? That was a feature that I used often!

Record option

blackmoe63

Why would you remove the record option from the app. I used to be able to record a show from my app when I’m away from home to watch when I get in. Now I need to have the physical remote and be sitting at home to be able to record a program I want. I love everything else about the app however the one purpose I mainly used it for is gone. Please put that option back!

App does not allow recording

Barajas58

Up until recently I was able to schedule upcoming showing or events on the app. That functionality has been taken away, I travel for work and cannot always be at home to schedule my recordings. Please fix this!

For as much as you pay for service...

The Tegtmeyer's

You should be able to plug in your phone to the Apple adapter to watch this app on your tv! When you’re already paying a bunch for the service and 3 boxes, they should let you do this. I will never be satisfied with the service until this happens. Directv let me do this, one of the many reasons why I miss them. Should go back to them but I’m in a contract. They’re worth dealing with the slower internet speeds because my speed with xfinity isn’t much better most of the time. I want to use this with a tv that’s in my kitchen that I have no way of actually booking a cable box up to. This would be very beneficial but nope, gotta ruin it for me.

What happened to record feature?

CapeCodGirl

I used to be able to set my DVR when I was away from my house. What happened?

Can't Record

SunInSeattle

Maybe I missed the reasoning, but for some reason I can no longer set recordings up from the app. I can't understand why they did this, but I feel like I am rarely at home when I remember I want to record something. It used to be so easy to set it up from my phone. Grrr...

Removed ability to record programs on the go

hamcap

Updated review to 1-star because they removed the ability to record using the app. If I could give them negative stars I would. I’ve seen changes made to an application that aren’t popular, but I’ve NEVER seen a company so stupidly remove essential functionality like this. So...if you happen to be away from home unexpectedly and you want to record a favorite program now you’re out of luck. Say you’re single and don’t have someone at home to record a show, now you’re out of luck. Trapped at the office or at a function or in traffic... no dice. Comcast was doing better with app development but greed just got in the way. Changes like this are usually related to money, and we’ve seen functionality removed by this company before. This move was likely based on a combination of factors: Too many people recording shows so they could skip the commercials. By limiting the recording functionality they would (perhaps) force incremental commercial viewing at the margin, boosting ad revenues by shifting the statistics upon which sponsors are charged. Or subscribers may have been using the application too efficiently, recording shows and then later watching on their devices reducing the number of set-tops in any given household. Lastly, a MINORITY of users we’re giving away password access and avoiding paying for the service altogether. However, in every case Comcast chose not to innovate and support the majority of users who were benefiting from the service. Rather than focus on the base customer, Comcast chose to make MONEY at the margins at everyone’s expense by removing a very useful and popular feature quietly within an “update”. This lack of work ethic and methodology is why Comcast is such a hated company. When faced with choices they’ll consider the customer last every time. Rather than focus on innovation and development to drive subscriber growth and behavior in a positive way, they have chosen the easy path of removing functions that don’t support their bottom line. That kind of shortsightedness will eventually bring them demise. Comcast is managed by a bunch of ballonheads and they’re obviously losing the fight in the battle for subscribers. Support net neutrality, because without it these kinds of shenanigans are going to change the way we interact with media forever. And it won’t be good.
