Failure to register walks

Ever since the last update, the app has failed to register my walks over half the time. I’ll start the walk and it’ll start recording, but then it’ll stop after only a few minutes and not record anything else. Sometimes it’ll record the whole time, but it’s highly inconvenient to have to stop constantly and check to make sure its working.

Doesn’t Play Well with Music

Love using this app to log our walks. However, I just picked up some bluetooth ear buds to listen to Apple Music and Pandora while on our walks. I’ll start tracking and then the walk ends (stops tracking) at the end of the block. Very frustrating.

Not logging

Once again start the app lock my phone, twice this week it didn’t log my walk and it’s very frustrating. Only continuing to use because it benefits a shelter, so something is better than nothing.

Works great, but doubling speed & distance?

Since the recent Apple IOS 13x updates it seems like the app is doubling both the distance and speed of my walks. Not that I’m complaining about the numbers but I’m pretty sure my 16 year old dog isn’t averaging 4+mph over 2.x miles in 20 minutes. Before the IOS updates the app used to report half of that, which is more realistic. Other than that, the app has worked well for me over the last couple of years. I enjoy being able to look back at the maps of the routes the dogs pick, and to look and see if I’m as consistent about walking them as I tell the vet. :-)

Crappy update

Since the new version came out, I've experienced inexplicable ends to walks after just a couple of yards, constant jumps to ads and more. I'm deleting this app and will find a better app to use while walking my dogs and raising money for my favorite dog rescue group.

Intermittent tracking/pausing ruining a good app!

I generally don’t write reviews on apps. I also code. I know how hard it is to get things right. I’m making an exception here. This is an app that could be a help to needy charities. That is if it worked the way that it was meant to work. It doesn’t. I’ve used the app for approximately 4 months. At first it worked as it should. Then it began pausing the walks which, in turn, caused me to lose steps or complete walks. I did some basic troubleshooting and found that if I put my phone in my pocket or closed it in a phone case, the app would stop. Then it pops up a resume. The problem seems to be in a touchy pause button. A way to disable the pause button might help. (Developers do you read these reviews?) The app was created by people with good hearts. The app concept is great. The graphics are fine. The user interface is solid. It’s the coding that needs work. BTW, this bug seems to have been an issue that has been seen in the app for quite some time. The FAQs talk about a “fix” of sorts. Maybe it will work for you. For me? “Nada”. If I didn’t want to help my charity, International Hearing Dogs, so badly, I would delete the app entirely. As it stands now, I take my life in my hands during each walk. Try walking yourself, and your dog(s) while keeping your phone under constant vigilance by pasting it to your face. This is, no doubt, a recipe for disaster!

Changes make the app freeze up!

I generally like the new changes to the app, but it keeps freezing up during my walk. It either will not unfreeze at all, or it will ask me to resume from where it froze up having not recorded the whole time we walked when it was frozen. It’s getting very frustrating!

I start the walk on the app with one of my dogs, lock my phone and stick it in my pocket, walk 1.5 miles, unlock my phone to finish our walk only to be asked if I want to resume the active walk. It isn’t recording more than a few steps. I try again with my other dog, same process, walking another 1.5 miles only to get the same failure to record my walk. I had zero trouble before the update but now I’m getting zero credit for walks. It’s very frustrating. I really like that my walks can benefit one of my local rescues, but where’s the benefit if the app is failing?

Doesn’t work

I like the idea of this app but it doesn’t work. I’ve tried it 4 or 5 times and every time except one the app shuts down as soon as I close out of it. That totally defeats the purpose. I’m kinda sad about it.

Good app when it works

I used to use “Walk for a dog”... then it was no longer available so I started using this app. When it works, it’s great! Unfortunately, every other walk or so the app crashes and stops working so it doesn’t count my miles. For example, this week it’s crashed 3 times and I’ve lost at least 12 miles that weren’t recorded. I wish it was more stable.
