Stop work

Wink out of business

BillyAnt

The other day, my Lutron Caseta light dimmers stopped working with my Amazon Alexa. They were connected to my network via the Wink hub. A couple months ago, Wink announced it was going to charge $4.99/month to continue to work with Amazon. Today, I went to the Wink website and it’s gone! There is a godaddy parking page for the domain. They’re out of business. Reading about Wink, they’ve had some business issues for some time. Today I bought a Lutron smart bridge to continue using my lights and voice control.

Pay $ to turn on and off!

With auto update my phone updated Sep 2020 version and now I cannot even login. The wink relay has 2 switch and now to use one has to pay. I removed the switch from outlet and installed relay, mow it is fancy brick on my wall. Was able to at least use to operate smart bulbs but now with Sep 2020 release it seems my login is removed as unpaid customer.

Don’t waist your money!

App doesn’t function well, lots of errors. They make you pay for bulbs and charge you to control them. Not worth the money! Use something else.

When it works, it’s great; when it doesn’t —

I’m about to give up on Wink. When it works it’s great, but devices will go offline for no particular reason, now the server has been down for it looks like almost 2 days. I don’t want to mess with a hub when I come home from work; fixing computers and switches and WiFi issues, and you guessed it — HUBS!

Worst product ever

ncorazzari

If I wasn’t already invested in all their crap product, I would switch to a different platform. They have had a major service outage now for 2 days on top of starting a paid subscription that wasn’t required when we bought the hub. Do NOT purchase these products or services. Learn from others mistakes.

Sever connection issues

Frustrating server connection issues have me considering a change. I understand why Wink suddenly started charging for the service and did not want to spend hundreds of dollars to replace my integrated devices. I did expect more constant connection with this initiative and have not seen an improvement. I hope they can get it right for their paying subscribers and loyal customers.

It used to work awesome before the subscription

I have been a huge wink fan since I bought my system and even upgraded it to the newer hub over a year ago; however, since July the hub is constantly offline and the lights either don’t turn on when I want them to or don’t turn off when scheduled. I have started switching all my exterior lights over to dusk to dawn bulbs. Two months in and the new bulbs work great without costing me an additional $5 month!

Don’t buy Wink. Period

After the subscription start, the entire hardware is a piece of junk. The lights don’t switch on or off. Even the schedule function is not working. $5 per month is a complete rip off. Its like paying apple $20 a month so that their iphone can make phone calls and download apps. I thought wink had potential but now its just another piece of junk that would go out of business and alexa/google would benefit from this stupid $5/month move.

Absolute scam

AlohaGuru

After four years of earning wink hub, the company decided they would start charging a monthly fee for the same services I have been using for four years. It’s like getting into your car one day, going to start the engine and having a message came up saying you need to start paying monthly to start your car. I believe there is a class action lawsuit about it
