OK service, miserable app

JTK Awesome

The biggest problem is the frequent, automatic logging out of the app. This will happen without warning, then you lose notifications until you manually log back in. And it’s a FULL login: email + password + PIN. Only the PIN should be required on a regular basis. The second problem is how slow the app is to complete ANY user action. Makes the service worthless. Finally, the added feature to notify you if your car is driven X distance is worthless, since the app is unaware when you’re in your own car and driving yourself.

Authentication flaws

I am continuously logged out of the app, and TouchID is not working at all.

Let my subscription expire

Barred.Owl

My 2017 Alltrack had a Carnet subscription but I cancelled the renewal because Carnet failed me when I need it most... during an accident. The safety assistance was not configured by my dealer correctly at purchase and Carnet offered zero assistance when a loaded dump truck rolled over my Alltrack. I had to gather myself and manage the situation without any assistance at all. That is why I let my subscription lapse and expire, and I won’t pay for a renewal.

Not good

gnartS

Useless. Only works when my car is running. Which I don’t need because then I am in my car.

Way overpriced

Mr. Jazz-bo

So tired of having to enter email and password. What happened to touch? App hangs or doesn’t work frequently. Can unlock doors but can’t lock. How lame can it be? Complete joke.

v3.4.5 5/9/2018 & v3.4.6 5/11/2018

Push Notifications no longer work for me at all. EDIT: Thank you Andrew for your detailed response. Don’t take any of this personally. iPhone 8 and iPad Pro, both on iOS 11.3.1. In addition to previous notes about v3.4.5. 2017 E-Golf: Still can’t enable Unplugged Climate Control. Can’t remotely set climate control settings whether or not the car is charging. Either control causes an error. Touch ID has started working, mostly. It’s as if 24 hours after installing the app update it suddenly starts working again. I understand that the app can’t talk directly to the car. Commands and requests have to go out over the interwebs to Verizon Telematics. It can’t be instantaneous. But it sure needs to be faster than it currently is. ========== As a longtime VW fan and owner of two 2017 VWs I VERY GENEROUSLY gave the previous version of this app 3 stars. I made detailed constructive comments and explained the many serious bugs in that release. A couple months later this version comes out, and it seems worse, not better. NOTE TO USERS: Do this first! Sign Out of app, kill app (google it), install the updated app, relaunch new updated app, then Sign In, then enter your PIN if prompted. All bets off if you don’t do all of that after updating the app. MEMO TO APP DEVELOPER: Put new features on hold. Instead focus on fixing existing bugs and improving stability. Valet Alerts? Curfew Alerts? But it still can’t tell me how long until the e-Golf is fully charged. E-Golf is plugged in and charging, but app says it’s unplugged and not charging. Even after several refreshes (which take forever). Then when app finally figures out the e-Golf is charging, it still says “-1m until full”, regardless of charge level. Unplugged Climate Control option still will not enable. No offense, but an unpaid intern software QA tester would have put the brakes on this software. Why does the app identify my 2017 e-Golf as a 2018? How is that possible when there are no 2018 e-Golfs here at all yet.

Junk! Don’t depend on it’s real time accuracy!

We signed up 4 days ago for our new 16 year old driver. The navigation is stuck at the last destination and assured us he was at his last designation, whereas he has moved away for 2 hours without our knowledge. DO NOT DEPEND ON THIS! We will be canceling tomorrow morning. Just want to make sure parents don’t depend on such a undependable app.

Works when it feels like it

Clover the Goat

I’m using it during a six month free trial. Sometimes it works, sometimes it just doesn’t. It seems to have trouble refreshing where the car is located, and the app doesn’t offer any clear method to manually refresh.

Meh..

Jhasskills

Half of the app doesn’t work. Not sure why anybody would pay $200 a year for this. Once my free trial is up, this relationship will be over.

Keeps logging me out!

limryan

tl;dr - rubbish app. Not worth your time and data to download. This app is pretty useless because it keeps logging me off and making me sign in again. There also isn’t a spectacular set of features that would make me want to keep using the app.
