Had a trip planned, and they cancelled our trip the night before we left out. VRBO claims a refund would be sent. 2 months later we have yet to receive one. Now vrbo has no idea where our refund is! Book thru airbnb
Terrible tech communication

Either VRBO is antiquated in its website or the people running it are terrible. I received a notice that the house I put money on was “not available” so I chose another, you guessed it- the first one came back as accepted - Now I have 2 places ??? I had to beg VRBO TO CANCEL one choice. Now the other choice is sending a request for payment when it was an automatic acceptance and my bank account is down for both houses? I’m 3100 down and hoping I’m not being scammed. NEVER AGAIN

I had a typo on my email so I couldn’t verify the house I rented for 4 days and the homeowner has failed to come in contact with me to help me change my email or contact me via phone number but it hasn’t happened so I’d suggest a change email option so something like this don’t happen to anyone else considering I paid for a house for 4 days and I can’t even verify it due to the typo and the homeowner refuses to even send a simple text to reassure me. And there response to everyone in the reviews is the same don’t waste your time on this app they don’t address issues so if you get screwed your just screwed if you don’t believe me read through the reviews and see some of the stories people have went through!!!!
Vrbo versus competitor

During my wedding to Greece we stayed in properties in both air bnb and Vrbo. We had difficulties finding large enough locations in all the areas we needed on air bnb so we thought we would try this app thinking it was on par with Air BNB. Ohhh how wrong were we. Some of them were awesome but some were literally in the parts of town our tour guide was scared to drop us off in. Also we had one location completely trashed and when we reached out to Vrbo it was the biggest headache and never resolved, we ended up having to stay in a hotel even though we had confirmed our check in time multiple times. If you are traveling in a area where you are familiar it might be a economical gamble but I caution you to look elsewhere. Getting a refund was like a full time job. I had one host cancel two days before because they accidentally overbooked. I could write a book on how awful this company was to use.

The app itself is great but like one of the previous reviews I was in a terrible location stuck without heat in the dead of winter and find myself having to leave in the middle of the night and paying for my own hotel unfortunately I have pre-paid over $4000 and I’m having a hard time getting my money back even though they canceled my reservation and refunded me for the two days that I actually stayed but they have not released my money for the rest of the time which is almost 2 months it is horrible trying to speak to anyone and the whole terms are very long and they transfer you without telling you that you’re being transferred it was the worst experience I have ever had when I was having a very difficult time would never recommend this to anyone

Their "average cost" is never when the average rent time is takes a lot of time to only discover jacked up prices for average weekend stay, would also be nice to do multiple weekend searches in one simple search.

VRBO is great, I’ve used them for years. However, the app has an issue that’s frustrating. If you click into the pictures to go full screen there is no way to get back out. You have to kill the app. I hope they update this soon.
